Honestly, if 4x4’s (especially Tacoma’s) weren’t in such high demand and over priced, I would’ve went with another 2nd. Totaled mine and got 20k for it with 117k miles. Made me scared to shop too hard for one on a lot. I would’ve have paid that for mine with that mileage!

My 2nd gen is a 6 speed and honestly I haven't seen another one like in person. I had a guy offer to buy it from me, but I politely declined and told him I'd never get rid of this truck!

I baby them all. My wife tried to get me to go mudding in HI. I went about a mile down the road and had to turn around. Not sure if I breathed at all. Might be different with a back up but as a daily driver, I just can’t. I just can’t get the four wheeling thing, everyone I know breaks shit every time they go out. Most expensive hobby I can think of! Mines a mall crawler for sure.

    :anonymous:

    It’s even in the title.

It does make it better when you have 2 trucks! I only have 28K on my Inferno and 300K on my 2nd gen. I'm much easier on my 3rd gen! I'm more likely to send it in my 2nd gen! lol

Honestly, I haven't seen any aftermarket 3rd gen grills that appeal to me.... I do like the pro grill, but kinda want to be unique like @InfernoChalupa!

I haven't seen any black-bezel'd cheese grater grills around here, so I like to think that mine is unique to my area.

I think bronze/copper wheels look good on the Infernos.

Another satisfied Dobinson's customer here. My buddy @Brian422 and I installed in his uncle's garage yesterday. Much firmer, but better than stock. Truck feels more planted on the road and no more nose dive while breaking.

I went with the 314 coils, 221 struts and 111 heavy duty springs and 940 rear shocks. Although the 314 coils are rated for 2" of lift, I only net 1.5" in the front. Contacted Mike and after some digging and some investigation, if was found that Access Cabs from the factory are 21" from hub to bottom of fender, when DCSB are 20.5" from hub to bottom of fender. The 2" rating was rated for a DCSB. Had I known this, I would have went with the next up rated coil spring, to net the full 2". Just some information for some future Dobinsons buyers out there.

I like the greasable pins concept. Greased up the bushing pins with Moly fortified grease.

The Dob shocks are much beefier than stock!

    Pre lift
    [IMG]
    Post lift, about 1.5"

I got a little over 2.75" of lift in the rear with an unloaded bed.

    All done!

The install was pretty straight forward and not difficult. Took Brian and I about 5 hours to do everything working at a steady pace. The most difficult part of the install was getting the rear leaf packs in. Had to use ratchet straps to pull the axle so the spring pack bolt would drop into the hole of the spring perch. Other than that, it went as expected with any other suspension install!

Despite not getting as much lift in the front as I wanted, I really like this suspension. It rides much better than stock and I was shooting for a super raked stance anyway. I'm always hauling mulch, rocks, firewood and towing either a boat or a trailer full of lawn equipment. With an unloaded bed, it's not as bad as I though it would be on the heavy duty springs. With some weight in the bed, it rides like a caddy!

Just remember that if you own an access cab, subract .5" of lift height for the coils advertised and go up to the next rated coil spring to get the lift height you are looking for!

    Before and after

Thank you to @Crikeymike for all the help! You owe me an air compressor! lol

    I'm looking for the SR5 T4R wheels. I think 15-19. I need a total of 3 so I can have 8 matching b/t the truck and camp trailer. :D
