Okay, just making sure. DuesExMachina had the reversed when he first installed his, and the symptom was the head unit not powering up. I had mine connected to the left two connectors at first, and the head unit ran fine, but the camera switch didn't do anything .

Hope you get it figured out and the guy backs his product if it's defective.

I bought my kit in May of 2019. I finally installed it today and it works great. I have a 2018 sport model truck. At first the front camera wouldn't work and I was getting a really weird picture from the rear camera. It took me a few minutes before I realized my tailgate was down. Put the tailgate up and the rear camera worked perfectly.

    :annoyed: :censored: :crazy: :goingcrazy::facepalm:

Took a break and tried to figure out why the front camera wouldn't work. Turns out I had a bad ground connection. Redid the ground connection and it works great. I didn't use the camera from ABC but purchased this one, like many others.

The only issue I have left is the switch. Everything works fine on it but for the illumination, how re you guy getting the switch to dim with the rest of the panel when you want to dim it? Any help would be appreciated.

I used the one on ABC site and watched a couple of different youtubes. Running for Tacos and Rob Motive if I remember correctly.

Yeah that's a good camera. The one they give you in the kit is absolute garbage. As for the dimming option, I have not tried actually dimming it, but the way it is wired in it will turn on and off with the other switch illumination when the headlights are turned on or off .

Does the system behave as OEM if no buttons are selected? (Reverse on transmission, reverse cam shows)

I will second that yes, from my experience as well. When the switch is in the middle position, all systems function as OEM.

No problem here either. Remember the override harness & video only enable the rear camera to trigger on when pressing the switch, same applies with the front camera when viewing.

Just did not know if the added harness has a diode to prevent the reverse input to the rest of the reverse output system...
Or is it the DPDT switch acting as a diode?

There is a diode on the back of the switch, connecting two of the terminals. Perhaps that is what it is for. I can tell you that when I engage the rear camera with the switch, that is the only reverse action that occurs; the backup lights to not come on, and the system doesn't do the reverse shift

I haven’t read all the pages...

anyone have a source to a replacement front camera?

Bought and installed the front camera kit but the included camera has illumination LEDs and where mounted in my grill, the LED light reflects off my white bumper and the Iris closes and the image sucks.

I’ve bought 4 different cheap cameras now from eBay vendors that have the small black connector instead of the yellow RCA at the camera and none are wired the same so they don’t work.

any help on finding a non LED camera with the small black connector greatly appreciated!!

Check out this post. This seems to be the one to buy. Pricey, but looks like its actually worth it.

this will have the little black connector on it as well, but it also has the adapter to connect to the yellow RCA wire with the red wire coming out. look at my post from the top of page 46 to see it.
