The thunder heads were the "best deal" at $41.00 for a 6 pack.

I have trusted MUZZY for ten years and this year I went to rage. I shot a doe this past weekend and was very impressed with the 5ft wide blood trail

I shot an 8 point at 20 yds last year with a Rage two blade broadhead. That was all it took, im never switchin to any other broadhead!

For years I've used Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain with success, but I now am trying 2 blade Rage for the first time. I was never a fan of mechanicals but with all the "Rage", I'll give it a try. I'm a little leary about them opening up, so I guess we'll see?

it's like anything else, you always here the bad about something. I was leary about mechanicals too. I hear about rage, saw some pictures, and when I shot that deer last year, I am a customer for life, unless, of course they malfunction, then I will be quick to jump on another bandwagon. :D

I look at it this way. Fixed broadheads such as Montec, which is what i use and love to this day is my favorite broadhead. No moving parts, solid steel through n through. Never have to worry about it not opening or something breaking off etc. Back in the day i shot muzzy 3 blade. The reason for this is because i was watching tv one day and they advertised the muzzy shooting through a 55 gal steel drum! Made me a believer right then and there. I was at my farm one year with a friend who shot montecs. I bet him that i could shoot through our steel drum at 20 yards with my muzzy and his montec would fail! So we bet, I shot the same bow as him 28in draw 70pound mathews dxt!!! Anyways, i shoot n made it through the first side n poked the second side.... blade was ripped to pieces. Long story short montec blew through steel drum n went out n killed a deer with the same broadhead that night! I am a firm believer of montec fixed blades.. Now, expandables on the other hand are good for 1 thing n 1 thing only. BIG ASS HOLES. ha =D anyways. If u get a bad shot, you can rely on that broadhead to do its job and make a huge hole to make that animal bleed out. Now, if you hit say the shoulder blade Ive had many issues no passing all the way through or blade breaking off.. Im not cool with that. Also think of this? 2 blade expandables such as rage? or shwacker? U got a doe at 20 yard. Chip shot, You shoot but u misjudged the yardage. U hit this doe high, now! Since there is only 2 blade lets say that the 2 blades landed horizontley 1 inch below the spine. U will NOT find that deer, and lemme tell ya.. I can risk doing that to any animal. Now that being said.. Im not bashing expandables because montecs would do the same thing and miss the spine.
I hope you understand what i am saying here.. maybe some one can take a piece of info from this or learn something =D thanks for reading!

i feel the same way. you can read horror stories about mechanicals on archerytalk.com all day long. bow hunting is hard enough, don't need to throw another variable into the equation. i have killed alot of deer with a bow, never used
    a mechanical.

i used a new broadhead the last day of the season and thumped a doe. it was a slick trick grizztrick. it leaves a huge hole, and is a fixed 4 blade. it kicked up up alot of racket after it left the string. it sounded just like a hornet going through the air. it did not seem to bother the deer at all, until it wiped out both lungs.

until this year i have always used 3 blades. i was at walmart one day and they had some carbon express lung buster broadheads on sale for $11 for a 3 pack. i figured
they would be a perfect head to use to smack does with. i had always wanted to try a 4 blade also. they look just like a slick trick razortrick, they are a cut on contact type head. to make a long story short, i shot 3 does with them the last week of the
season. i could not beleive the difference in the entry hole b/w a 3 blade and 4 blade. it looked like i had drove a titlest through there, i think from now on i am going to shoot 4 blades.

I like the montecs but I like the muzzy better because u can change the blades cheaper than changing out the whole thing

I just went to Rage 3 blade this year for when I'm in my stand... If i'm stalking or walking I usually nock a fixed 4 blade muzzy, in case it hits some brush or something along the way.

i'm gonna try the RAGE two blade this year for the first time. why? i have some underspined arrows to get rid of. with a field tip, they fly AWESOME! i can draw with them at 20 yards. i think a mechanical would be great with them. here is the deal..i will only use them on turkeys.

for any bigger game, i will shoot the montecs. they fly good. not robinhood good, but "good". my form needs to be minded. the montecs are like a solid tool. reliable. i have learned to sharpen them, to "YIKES! that is sharp!"

My friend u are I'n luck. Montec makes a sharpner.. Run them across it 5 times sharper than new!! Never again buy practice blades. Also, do u enjoy replacin n removing n swapping old blades or replacement blades? I hated muzzy for That reason! Montec makes pre season blades for target shooting an regular for I'n season! Montec gives them ol white tail a good ol dirt nap if u punch right through the pump station !!
