Except this isn't a Ferrari, Porsche or Bentley etc

The factory paint on these trucks is meh at best. I'm not super impressed with the paint on my 2018. The factory paint on my 2004 Tacoma was much better

I know what it is. And I know the paint sucks. I just stated that if it was my truck (which it is not so no need to say it) I would not want my nose repainted. If it was a few years old maybe but not new. And dont really want to hijack his thread with back and fourth. Try the hair drier. If it's not that and it is mottling really consider how bad it bothers you against will you be happy knowing your hood and fenders were re sprayed and might not be 100%.

So what would be an acceptable solution:

New truck one beef and cheddar
Paint whole truck and three beef and cheddars
Porsche GT3 as compensation and live with paint issue, but collect six beef and cheddars

This isn't some bespoke vehicle and your typical consumer would opt for a partial paint. However is a Kevin and Karen world so demands will be insane

These things happen more often than not. My JL Wrangler I just traded in had paint blotches and parts where you could see the paint ran.

All bullshit a side. Look at most vehicles on the road. Side cast blotchy as fuck. Bumpers don’t match etc. Do we live In A perfect world. Fuck No. It depends on what you can live with. More important things to worry about really.

I understand the sentiment but the money people pay for these trucks is hard earned money. It's not acceptable at all.

99% of people are not going to be looking for some random paint defect in the middle of their hood, esp on a vehicle that's not a standard ride height like a car.

I get that as well. That’s why I would paint and blend the fenders. Call it done.

That’s a pretty obvious paint defect dude, would be hard not to miss, so you don’t walk around a new car you’re about to drop $30k on? And it’s a Tacoma it’s not that tall.

Yeah I do walk around my vehicle and look at it, but how many people are tall enough or getting up high enough to see the hood, the middle of the hood on the truck? Yeah if you're tall maybe, I'm 5-7. I can't even reach the middle of my hood when waxing it without some elevation and even then it's a reach. Not to mention, looking straight down on it.

Point is, it shouldn't be coming out of the shop that way, and nobody is going to catch everything - During a new car transaction I'm distracted enough trying not to get fucked by the dealer.

my super white definitely has a clear coat because it's starting to chip off on the hood and grill surround.

I appreciate all the tips guys. I am going to take it home from work today and see about cleaning the hood really well and maybe trying to hair dryer. If that doesnt seem to make a difference, then I will bring her to the dealer and see what they can do.

Let’s get a poll. I say they will repaint hood. Blend fenders call it done. Paint job will be warranty work. Well hopefully. Good luck

Most likely T-SB-0044-16 Paint Stains Under Rapgard. Bring the TSB to the dealer and let them fix it, or try it yourself. Just parking in the sun on a hot day will fix it.
