Is your truck MGM? Where did you get the color matched bumper caps?

 

Yeah, had them painted by a body shop. MGM is a weird color, well colors, even parts on the truck can be tinted a bit different from each other, best to bring your truck in and have them paint to match your specific truck.

 

Ah ok thanks. I've been on the lookout for some bumper caps but I think what you did is probably the best bet. How much did the paint job cost if you dont mind me asking?

Just got my truck back after 5 weeks of warranty paint job. Stripped everything down to bare metal except the tailgate. Had the 2017 blazing blue pearl clear coat issue. I think it looks great!

Aha yeah I was wondering if I would be able to pick a color. The body shop did a great job. I took it to the local authorized Mercedes repair shop for high quality German paint.

 

Headlights can stay in and you just need to loosen the bumper which is the worst part out of the whole thing. the grille comes out super easy. watch a couple videos on YouTube on how to remove the headlights and you can have the swap done in under an hour no problem. there is a link on one of the threads for them but it doesn't do a great job on showing how to release the flairs from the bumper

 

$120, I found unpainted caps for $70 on eBay, but the shop gave me lifetime warranty on the paint if I bought the caps through them for $100 for aftermarket capa ones. So $220 all together.

 

Did the @MESO chrome delete and vent rings yesterday. Still on the fence about the 4x4 ring. I liked the red start button ring from seeing it on another member's full set, but I think the 4x4 ring either needs to be OEM gray, or the climate rings need to be cement... neither of which are available yet.
Or I $uck it up, get the red start button, and put the cement ring on.

Yeah, I'm really holding out hope he does OEM gray like the climate rings, 2020s come with more stuff that color than just the climate rings. I like that color a lot. I 3d printed myself some glove box insert letters in black was able to use some rub n buff in silver and black to get a very close to OEM gray on them. I have been seriously debating buying the climate rings, 4x4, start, and shift ring in black and doing the same with them.

Duplicolor makes MGM paint available in aerosol cans. Duplicolor is available at most auto parts stores. I bought mine on Amazon. The color is an exact match to the OEM paint on my MGM Tacoma. I will be using it to color match my TRD Pro Skid Plate to my body paint.
Replacement bumper end caps are available from several sources including your Toyota dealer. I bought mine (that I know longer intend to use) from Rock Auto. They were significantly cheaper than those from the dealership. Very good quality and as far as I can tell they equal or exceed the quality of the OEM bumper end caps.
There are also end caps under the brand name BumperShellz. They fit over your existing end caps and I believe available in colors to match existing paint.
You may want to just paint your existing end caps using the Duplicolor spray paint. Should you go that route they will require some prep work before you paint using 400 grit wet & dry paper dipped in a little dish soap and water to take the shine off the chrome and allow the paint to adhere properly. Wet & Dry paper is inexpensive and available at most auto parts stores, probably available on Amazon as well. It's more labor intensive but it will save you a bunch of cash.

The topper was a chunk of change, about $2800, but it makes the truck much more functional for me. Got lucky and found the exact roof rack set up I needed on CL for $200!

 

I used the duplicolor Barcelona red for my interior bezel, worked well and matched perfectly.

To piggyback back on what you said, duplicolor has a filler/primer that would work well for the bumper caps after sanding. Clear coats after paint obviously.

I was lazy with the bezel and just used an adhesion promotor primer after cleaning as opposed to any prep sanding.
