No thanks. I will stick with my shin skinning, tire rubbing, gear hunting, clutch pedal squeaking, thin paint, noisy speaker cover, under powered car engined, needing a catch can, not enough towing capacity, 4x4 switch in the wrong location Tacoma.

I missed a bunch. Please edit as needed!

You expected 800 hp out of a traditionally low-output off road utility vehicle?

who keeps tricking these people into thinking these are performance vehicles? Is there a renegade marketing force somewhere I don’t know about?

    sell your truck brah. Please.

..no power windows, doors, or seats, poor aerodynamics, gas hungry 4cyl. It's Toyota truck tradition and it's sacred.

Dying to know at what point in the past 40 years peoples expectations for this truck shifted from “slow and steady”, which it was, and is, to “HP is the only deciding factor in what makes a vehicle awesome”

Was it 05? Had to have been. Because during the 1st gen years I don’t recall seeing this sentiment every day.

I’ll pass on anything that has the Mercedes name. Better cars for cheaper prices out there plus in my opinion most Mercedes are just butt ugly.

    Mall crawler.

But now I want to add a drone landing pad to my 3rd gen. And I don't even have a drone.

good question, sometimes i think the hype of how great it was (past generations) can lead people to unrealistic expectations. Also they want horsepower but bitch about 15 mpg, clearly we arent dealing with physics majors

No-I knew exactly what I was buying and got almost just that. For the most part I’m not delusional. I just like to poke at those who do expect their Tacoma to be at this level of power and comfort.
If I have the need for power and comfort I drive the wife’s car. Lol

Seriously, it's 2020. Why does the Tacoma not come with a drone landing pad?

Except, how great was it really? They were cramped as can be, would lock up if you hit the brakes hard and quick enough, I don’t even remember them having any cup holders. but they always started up and if it broke it was super easy to fix.

my boss described it as that basically. they didnt have the greatest of anything but it was light enough because the creature comforts were minimal and it helped the v6 feel peppy. back then i think the tacoma was on par with the 4 runner development wise.

I'm pretty sure I'll see this rolling around in my hood soon. I mean I see crazier cars on a daily basis. Lambo's, ferrari's, Mclaren's, G63's and G wagon 4x4 squared all Brabus'd up. Glendale, CA......
