I have problems keeping the manual shifter knob tight on the shifter. It has 3 set screws, is that even an OEM knob? Shouldn't the OEM knob thread onto the shifter? Help! What do I do? We tighten the set screws but a month later they are loose again. Thread lock doesnt work, the blue stuff.

The Auto knob just screws on to the shift rod.
    Not sure on the manual.

Pretty it just threads on for both the slushbox and the handshaker...

try taking it off and throwing a couple wraps of electrical tape under it. I have a manual and it threads on but I've owned set screw type knobs before.

If the shifter is threaded, yes it should. Is it?

1st, keep calm. This isn't an emergency. Right?

Assuming the knob you are using has no threads where it goes over the shifter?

Find a shift knob of your choice, or an OE knob, that fits the shifter. Done.

Wanna be old skool? Have an 8 ball drilled/tapped to fit your shifter. :D

Wanna fancy shifter 'cause you have a fancy truck? Contact this guy http://knobmeister.com/ He makes great stuff.

Truck a bit more plebian, work or woods oriented? Find a used OE knob. A post in WTB here will likely come up with one reasonable.

    Or find one on eBay.

Go to fastenal or somewhere like that. Get a coupling nut, $1 or $2. 8x1.25 for auto transmission. Epoxy that in the knob and you will be able to thread it on the right way.
