If they stay in business and cover their dividend, I am ok with whatever the stock price does.

not until we get a headline of all 50 states getting coronavirus, we've got room to keep going here lol

The gap between my mock 401k and 401k SHTF portfolios is widening.. so far I've still made the correct decision. It's the "pop" that worries me

Wow, the end of the day really picked up speed downward! I'm actually still up a little bit for 2020 so far, but I'm sure tomorrow will be another 3-5% drop and then we have all weekend for more bad coronavirus news heading into Monday.

CODX $100? lol at this rate nothing would surprise me. Sadly trading TVIX is more comfortable than holding that stock for more than 2 days

    What is DCA?

I’m only down 23% in F but I bought it because of its relatively low price and how little it fluctuates (just a few dollar spread in 52 weeks) but it still paid dividends.
F is on my list of long term investments that I don’t plan on selling unless the company is on its way out.

dollar cost averaging. You put in a little every month. Stocks up? Buy? Stocks down? Buy. Just keep doing it on a set schedule.

Thats basically what I do, I put in what I can when I can and then once I have an idea of what shares I want I’ll set a limit buy after looking at the past week and attempt to get shares on the lower half of what they were recently.
I also take into account the longer term charts but typically it has little to no impact, the latest exception to that was IMGN though, they shot up 30+% after earnings were announced and I didn’t buy until today when they settled back to “normal” pricing.

They’re saying this was the fastest 10% correction ever. Congratulations to all longs, we made history!

Now it can stop though, it’s getting crazy how violent this is.

I made the mistake of showing RobinHood to my coworker a few months ago, I was hoping it would be a way to reduce his lottery playing, but instead he’s playing stocks like they’re the lottery, he’ll buy shares of something and watch them fluctuate a little, if it’s a gain he’ll let it ride to see if he can make more off of it, if it is a break even or loss after 2-3 days he’ll bail out and put his money into something else.
It got me thinking, is anyone in here a casino regular? I don’t gamble (other than the stock market) but about half of my coworkers do, and it’s interesting to see the different ways that we analyze risk in investment.

I am hoping for the long U shaped recovery they’re talking about. I have nothing to invest now, but I should in several months. With my luck I’ll miss this whole thing.

$5 a month if the news is advertising a big lottery pot. Other than that. This is it.

The futures don't look good for tomorrow already. Being the end of the month, people might be taking their money and running.
