2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

Nice work! There's gonna be a lot of happy folks.

 

I just picked up a 2020 Off Road manual. Previously drove an 18 automatic that I had OV tune on and loved the change. Convince me I need OV tune on my 20, especially you 20 owners. I only have 390 miles on it. I want to get the discount which ends soon

Okay, the file is all stock except for the throttle patch, so it's not a full tune, it's just for testing throttle changes.

unhappy how, what is it doing

 

so it's unhappy during warm up because of downshifting?

or unhappy warm up idling?

 

Because I did not want any tune variables to interfere with it. Just wanted clean slate test of that with nothing else.

Okay well I need to know about the warm up please, in detail or with datalogs.

 

Have you ever used our logger before?
I need to see throttle angles when the truck is this cold. Those temps are extremely cold. How long do you let it idle before driving?

 

Is there an octane preference for this tune? I have only run 91 and 93 tunes and am on a full tank of 91 at 4000 ' of elevation.

 

it's a stock tune mostly so 87

 

Sounds like stock 04B41 to me, depending on what RPM you're shifting at.

My body is ready but I'll wait for the full release.

 

So is DFCO rev hang taken care of? It's the only thing holding me back from buying it.
I know many of you will say just buy it, but until DFCO is taken care of ill stick to my 4.88 04B13 manual stock tune.

 

DFCO is 75% taken care of. @M1Awolf and I had a test tune. There is a small problem with dropping the RPMs to where they need to be in 1st gear, but 2nd through 6th are just freaking stellar.

OVT considers the RPMs to be a proprietary thing, so I will not post them, but I can tell you that the small change in 1st is quite noticeable and the other gears just bring a smile to my face.

I have played with this patch in every mode (2Hi, 2Lo, 4Hi, and 4Lo) since it stuck in the ECU after flashing back to other tunes. So IMHO, DFCO is really being taken care of.
