I saw one back around 1990. We were bowhunting in the Michigan Upper Peninsula. Going into town one morning it crossed our camp road right in front of us.

I think the cat that was hit by a vehicle by you was the same cat that came through Wisconsin. Through DNA testing it was determined that that cat came from South Dakota.

    Yep.
IIRC,That one actually was traced back to South Dakota.
Scat samples matched those found in Wisconsin and Ontario and other places.

I actually saw one here about 25 years ago when I was working in the bucket in all places...Waterbury.
    Bunker Hill to be exact.
Saw it twice minutes apart. Not large by kitty standards..about 75 pounds.
No mistake IDing once you see one.

Called DEEP right away and they told me that I REALLY saw was a dog or a Yote.

I found out months later this kitty was confirmed by tracks found by DEEP and was kept under wraps.
    Yep, they don't exist here.

When I hunted Nat Forest land in Vermont, I cut big cat tracks in the snow on 2 occasions.
    They don't exist there either.

Bout 20 years ago, two Moose were killed not far from the house here.
One made it to the Merrit and a NH woman hit it. Not long after, another one was heading to the Merrit and was killed near the Fairfield rest area.
Suicide by cops for that one.

I also remember back in the late 70's backpacking in the Ansel Adams Wilderness area . We were headed towards Thousand Island lake for a two day layover . Our guide stopped us as we were very close to our camp site and showed us multiple fresh Mtn lion tracks within 100 yards of our campsite

Guess I won't be leaving work anytime soon...only way in or out is blocked by a car wreck. DUI from the sounds of it. FJ rear ended the black dually as it slowed to turn left towards us and the trailer went under the truck by at least 4 feet. FJ spun around and is now in the wrong lane. Speed limit is 70 here.

and likely the rear axle/diff...maybe the gas tank. no actual body damage from what i can see from work but i'm guessing there will be a ton of stuff messed up on the underside!

can't see from here the way he's spun around. sounds like the guy is drunk and slammed into the back of the truck without slowing down sooo....hitting a 1 ton truck with a trailer at 70mph....I'd guess not good.

Tow truck pulling the trailer, another truck pulling the dually truck. Trailer was too stuck.
    0227201417.jpg
Tow truck driver got inventive and picked up the end of the trailer then they finally got the truck freed.
    0227201421.jpg

FJ lost a wheel, passenger side. Whole front suspension was busted.

we have had alot of big cat sightings in the mountains here, but the game dept. denies they exist.one reason is if they verified they are here,,federal government regs would require a hugh scientific study which would bankrupt the game commision.hard to say but here some creditable people have said they saw them..and they have huge home ranges,
