@cruiserguy i have this one too and love it for the price point. Puts out a good amount of smoke, the can is durable and easy to refill, and it even comes with the smoke oil and a header valve tool. Definitely a good purchase. One of those “don’t use it every day but nice to have when you do need it” tools.

 

I just swapped my seats for some 4Runner seats. I threw out the seats, but,... I kept the plastics in case anyone needed them. You can have them for free99 if you want. Just cover shipping. They’re grey btw.

Was pretty funny for sure. That was a good couple pages, the skottle had me laughing too.

For some reason I thought they discontinued those switches. I had to dumpster dive at the pick n pull to find one when mine stopped working.

 

If they are power seats, you may want to look at working to get them lower. Mine, from a 328I have me very tall in the saddle. If I were starting fresh, I would look at removing the double floor area at the front of the rails, and just bolt through the floor, with plates underneath to reinforce.

Thanks for the tips... I'm not quite ready to tackle them yet. Daughter is getting married in t-minus 16 days. So, I'm caught up in all that for projects. But when I start to tackle them, I'm sure I'll be looking for advise from those who have done the BMW seats.

Matco sells a 27mm shallow socket for a 3/8” drive ratchet. I’ll get a pic later if anyone wants it but I basically cut the wires short and used that socket/wrench combo. The 27mm I had is a 1/2” drive and the two of those together didn’t even come close to fitting into the tight space between the tunnel and the switch.

 

Yea it's a PITA working in that hole.

 

Someone say non OEM seats? From my experience, pretty much every Toyota seat that isn't in a luxury vehicle (various Lexus and land cruisers) leave a lot to be desired, compared to just about any american truck or SUV which just so happen to be designed to fit your average American land whale. I didn't want to adapt seats from another car again (would have been my 5th seat swap project). So I went with a Mastercraft bucket, and I plan to put another one in real soon since I already had premade floor brackets for just about any third party seat. Lemme tell you though, the hip and shoulder engagement and suspension design is just superb. It's like a completely different vehicle now, I used to hate the seating position, even when I had 4runner leather buckets or 2nd gen runner SR5 fully adjustable buckets I could never quite get in a position that didn't upset my hips and ankles. Now I'm damn comfy and the only thing I really need is a shift knob about 4" longer for everything to be ideal.

 

Sweet! I went with 1999 camry power seats because they were, well, free and I knew the history of them. Meaning a hooker didnt misscary on them or something like that. Pretty damn comfortable compared to the stock seats. The cool part is these trucks already have the power seat wiring harness under the carpet. If I didnt get these seats i would have went with some mastercrafts like what you posted. You are right overall though, I used to have a 1999 Sierra pickup as a tow rig and that was like sitting in a lay-z-boy!!

I would love the seats out of our 2015 camry XSE however they are probibly tied into the ecu or something and I'll brick the car, and my wife would get pretty pissed at me.

I agree. I installed Mastercraft seats also. BAJA RS reclining. The only semi-complaint is getting in over the bolster is something you need to get use too. They certainly cradle you nicely and give much more support when wheeling.

Got my tires mounted last night, and today I washed her up and took some pics for the "world" to see.. I am super happy with the size and offset, and it really handles like a new truck now!!

Do you adjust the back tilt with that knob on the side?
I'd love a set of mastercrafts for my truck.

How far do the seats fold fowards? Seems like it might be kind of a pain to get into the back area from outside the cab without the same fold down & slide action of the factory seats.
