Buying a 2020 any vehicle is a bad idea (in 2020).

    Don’t change my mind lol

Would like to add. The clunkiness is the play in the driveshaft and the tranny, its actually pretty simple.

If you are rough/too quick with the clutch, she will clunk. All thats needed is slower/more gentle release/engagement.

Also, applying just a tiny bit of throttle when completeing your shifts, does wonders.

No one is going to be “dying” for a manual truck. A manual sports car? Hellcat, s2000s, even the discontinued RS, EVO etc would command a premium. But a truck?! When Tesla and Nikola are coming about with the Cyber Truck and the Badger with 10,000-15,000 pound towing capacities and 0-60s in the <3 second range all while using an outlet to power the thing, you think you’re truck is going to be some collectors item when gas is $20/gallon with a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds, gets 18mpg and likely has the frame rusting out from under it?

I have had many MT vehicles in the past. Some out of necessity (couldn't afford a AT at the time) and some on sporty cars where it makes perfect sense. Having a mazda miata MX5 with a AT is blasphemy. That considered, unless I lived way out in the country, I don't want a MT on my Tacoma or any daily driver.

What I will take issue with in the video is the statement that MT are not sought after and will lose money. He waited 5 or 6 months to get that Tacoma on special order and there are plenty of people out there that look far and wide for a MT since they are as rare as hens teeth. I've even heard of MT going for a premium over AT's.

Cant agree with that. IMO if you have a nice, low km and stock MT 3rd gen, in 15-20 years for now, it will be very desireable.

Toyota doesn’t have to do a thing. Which is why they can afford to put the same vehicle out year after year with nothing more than a tweak here or a tweak there.

They have built an incredible reputation for reliability and resale value, they don’t owe us anything and they know it.

Agreed! I think he's been talking to too many salesmen. They jack up the price when they're new because they are "rare" and you wait months for it, then tell you they can't sell the trade because no one wants it so it isn't worth as much?!? Guess who's trying to get more coin in their pocket! And what vehicle doesn't lose money in trade??? Tacos do better than most - but you're still losing money.

sure yeah, buy a Tacoma and park it in a garage to resell in 15-20 years. Oh yeah, and don’t take it off-road or modify it. That’s money well spent, and since you can see the future can you tell me what stocks I should invest in due to the beer virus?

Since when can you not eat and drive with a MT? It's why God gave us knees. And sandwiches. And french fries. Hell - all fast food, really.
