Well yeah... that’s why most units do monthly vehicle inspections. I even called insurance to make sure it wasn’t the old trick of getting the card and canceling insurance. I didn’t mean any and everyone on post as a whole. I meant the responsible person that’s not some turd joe. With those monthly inspections, no excuse. Don’t have your shit current, that’s on you and a shitty call to your chain of command.

 

I believe there's also an option to donate to some sort of Veteran's Awareness Fund here in PA...?

Lowest levels. A SGT will inspect his team, SSG inspects the SGTs. SFC inspects the SSGs. etc...

 

Ain’t no one got time for that. If joe can’t act like an adult and pay for insurance then joe can get a suspended license and ride a bike to work.

 

My dad's parents lived in New Jersey, so he always had a New Jersey license with his parents' address when he was active duty; He told me that by declaring residence in Jersey, he was able to legally avoid income taxes at the state level no matter where he was living!

 

He meant my comment. Not sure how other branches do it but Army it’s expected and basic leadership level stuff to counsel soldiers mostly and conduct vehicle inspections. Has been the case for every unit I was at.

 

My home of record was idaho plates were TX stationed in MD. Tx license...plate/registration renewal was mailed to me in MD. Insp sticker was expiredbut not needed

 

That I understand, to make sure there's no explosives in the vehicle or anything...

The way Shane described it, it sounded like the CO or your supervisor would conduct random annual inspections of your vehicle in the parking lot to make sure everything was in order.

 

Yeah and joe ends up AWOL because his fat ass doesn’t have a bike. Please, it’s not hard to make time once a month.

I do agree it shouldn’t be needed BUT it is. Also avoids some dumb ass knee jerk reaction from the upper levels.

Expired registration? Bet they do... if not, they aren’t doing their job.

 

I used to counsel them with all my expectations and include the consequences for their failure to meet them. Failing to act like an adult and maintain the required standards of an adult meant UCMJ and, for a few, getting chaptered out.
