Just spend more money on the suspension you already spent a lot on. Then do that every year.

Just looking at the pic, it looks like that spring has been busted awhile.

Do you have anything to contribute ever or are you just an overly sensitive power hungry "moderator" for an online forum?

Edit. Block me with your fake power. Perma-ban here I come!

dang, lets talk about broken springs, not feelings

OP, looks like a lot of corrosion on the broken part of spring, maybe a piece finally popped out...maybe its been cracked for a while

Seems like even with corrosion a coil should handle moderate to heavy offroad use?

you would think so, but seeing the conditions/habitat that spring has been living in without being rinsed off even regularly which I would think to do. especially with that much sediment buildup....maybe spring had a crack and corrosion just ate away at the steel spring itself internally?

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
It's hard to say what really caused the spring to break. Even the top name brands get a defective part out every once it awhile. Spring could've had a slight defect but took this long to show itself. Just something to consider. :notsure:

Here are my kings and they have lived almost their whole life right here in Cali. Just took this pic today as I am painting them. Fronts look just as bad. And my coils look almost like his as well. My icons on my other rig look way better and they see almost the same kind of conditions.

Edit: I just went out and rechecked my fronts and my coils do look better than his. Just my bodies are jacked up.

I'm a beleiver that the paint got chipped in one area near the break, and it simply corroded along with some bumps/potholes, and eventually snapped.. good luck man, hard breaks.. i Live in midcoast maine, and we use a LOT of salt around here.. I wash my truck whenever temps allow.. anytime it is over 35Degrees I'm at the touchless, or DIY wash stations. and am sure to wash out the undercarriage, and get it as clean as possible.. until the next snowstorm, whatever..

I have had them for 6 years and I have rebuilt them a couple of times so I knew they were getting bad over the years. I just wire wheeled the top layer off and then primed and painted them today. Fronts will need the same as well as new coils due to some rusty spots.

The uniballs are awful. I do
That's the plan. Changing out the uniballs at the same time. They are squeeky as hell
I wash my truck once a week minimum but we've had crazy weather this week. It went from 45° earlier in the week to a snowstorm yesterday. They are crazy dirty right now, but it isn't the norm. I can't really wash my truck that effectively when it's only 20° out. Also, I live on a dirt road, so they got muddy with all the warm weather before the storm.

This is making me feel better about deciding to go with Elka's when I pull the trigger on the suspension setup.... even if Kings are "king"

The corrosion created a stress riser and snap.

When you get these replaced consider coating your truck with something

    3M Cavity Wax
    Krown
or even my least favorite Fluid Film
