1-2 is always bad. Getting into 1st anywhere above 2mph is fucking impossible. Literally the only “smooth” shift is 4-5. All the other feel like the god damned thing has been sitting in Antarctica for 3 decades. I actually think it’s worse now than before the tranny fluid change. Clutch pedal feels fine, no leaks that I’ve seen, but if I still have it this weekend, I’ll check the level just for giggles and kegels. I have no hope for the longevity of this truck.

Have you checked that your clutch pedal height and push rod are adjusted within spec? That info is on here somewhere.

no, because I don’t have issues with the clutch engaging. I don’t think it’s a left foot problem, it’s the right hand (or left if my right hand is on my reliable stick...) experiencing the issue

Sounded like what you were describing before could've been an issue with the clutch disengaging. Worth checking before dumping the truck/ trading in.

I will echo these two statements and it’s incredibly frustrating. 1.05 helps with the 1-2 shift but it still sucks. And I’m convinced that DOWN shifting into first in this truck under any real driving circumstance is impossible. Something would break if I made it happen I’m sure of it.

anyways i personally love my truck regardless but can totally understand if these things plus some of the other quirks bother you enough to sell. Especially given the incredible value.

Downshifting into first is possible with a massive throttle blip. But with the shitty throttle on this truck it's not fun. I have done it a few times and it's smooth-ish
I agree, 1-2 suck in this truck under all conditions lol.

From early reports, the single torgue file might fix this, making driving in 2nd much better. Let's hope

I am not sure what is going on for you guys and I don't have any real suggestions. Most all of my goofy shifting was fixed by the TSB tune with every new version of OVT making shifting better.

But since the moment that I did the ADM, I have been able to make butter smooth downshifts into 1st at speeds up to 30mph.

It's not so much a clutch engagement issue, but a synchro issue. Mashing the throttle does help getting into 1st, but it still isn't pretty.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s much improved. But still not a “buttery smooth” shift from 1-2 unless I really, really focus. Maybe I’m expecting too much out of a truck. And tbh, I never noticed a crazy difference after doing the ADM. maybe a little?

regardless I’m excited for what 2.0 has to offer. Patiently waiting.

I have Never been able to do that. If it's not about 10 or less, its not happening, and even then, I HAVE to rev match

Have you flushed your tranny fluid? I'm due, as it's factory fluid on 45k miles. Going to put redline mt in soon, when the weather gets warmer here in utah

I'm only at ~25k so not really time, but I was considering it anyway.

So is this why I was hopping my Tacoma across the Home Depot parking lot in front of God and everyone the other day... or is that just me again :notsure: My daughter was not impressed.
