Motorcycles BS Thread 2.0

There’s a whole subculture there. It’s not a problem if you know how to navigate it. I know some of the club guys so they don’t see a threat when I ride around and I don’t feel like I can’t ride anywhere I want.

Haha. No lie. One time I was visiting a buddy of mine in South Central and we were hanging outside and there was some dude hooning around on a dirt bike. Some big ass dude come out from between two cars as clothesline’s him with his forearm. Picks up the dirt bike and just rides off. The Moto dude was hurt but just limped away on foot with his helmet on like “just another day”. That was back in the mid 90s though but pretty eye opening to see some dude just get took like that.


Haha reminds me of another time a few guys I know that were into dirt bikes and took a trip to Baja. The one guy in the group that got convinced to get a bike was super excited because it was his first trip with his new bike and all his new gear. They’re mobbing out on the dunes by the beach when the inexperienced rider digs his front wheel in the sand and takes a spill and his friends didn’t see so they left him behind. Nothing hurt but his ego, He gets up but can’t kick start his bike. A local kid was just walking by and saw it all, asks if he’s ok. Dude says yeah, I just can’t start my bike. Kindly offers, “well let me help you!” Kickstarts the bike on his first try and rides off. Leaving the dude walking in the sand in full moto gear and no bike. His friends come back and have a good laugh at him. Dude hadn’t even made his first payment in the bike yet. I got told this story like 6months after it happened and the dude was still paying for the bike because he didn’t have insurance on it yet. Poor bastard... good story though.

 

That is rough.

 

Gahd damn. Even more reason I avoid LA

 

Up by Tahoe the scene is amazing. Tons of trails, lots of people riding, some stunting, you have to go out of your way to run into club business. Basically a lot of the perks of CA without the bs from LA area.

Haha. A lot of the actors from SOA are from my neighborhood. Some of them are actual club members too. It was all filmed around here. The mechanic shop they used as the SOA clubhouse still has the huge reaper mural on it. I’ll take a picture next time I swing by. Kinda funny because when I used to watch that show I could tell where they just put up signs that said what town they were in and I’d know exact where that intersection was- right down the street from me.

 

I am gonna cruise through on my red grom.

That’s like Hawaii 5-0 or whatever it’s called. All the streets and shit I knew exactly where they were. They even filmed an episode 2 streets down from where I was living at the time. That was a pain. We got the “you may be hearing gun shot noises between the hours of 12-4. Don’t worry it’s just us shooting an episode and it’s blanks”

That sounds like a horrible place to live. I don't know why, but Harleys seem to attract more douchebags than any other manufacturer. A while back, I rode my bike to CVS to pickup meds for my sick wife. The guy in front of me in the checkout line had a helmet in his hand, as did I, so I said hey and asked him what kind of bike he rides. He replied with "the only kind there is" and nothing more. Wouldn't even speak to me beyond that. When I got to my bike I rode around the parking lot and saw him sitting on a Harley... I know not all Harley riders are that way, but damn the ones that are. They give the rest of you a bad rap.

 

I feel like every manufacturer has that
