Even though it’s a little taboo I think I’ve decided King up front and fox in the rear

    Not taboo at all.

I may finally send my Fox rears to get fixed and revalved so I'll be running the same.

my sliders aren't that bad... lol

it's just that hi-lift mount that's sinful. not like it's structural and needs to pass x-ray lol

    You'll be fine.

My King fronts and 5100 rears aren't all that bad. I was even considering getting new 5100s when I do my leafs, just incase my current ones are too far gone when that time comes. I'd hate to spend the money on something expensive, just to get rid of them shortly after when I really tear into the rear suspension. the 5100s are perfectly drivable as is right now.

Do you have the 600 or 700 spring on the kings? Front bumper/winch or anything?

I had that problem when I installed my AAL after having the Dakars on for a few years ...

I waited and it settled down. Then I put on a camper and it's perfect.

I think 700lb springs would be crazy for a 1st gen, unless you have a ton of extra weight up front that's going to be stiff as hell hitting speed bumps and what not.

Kings come with 600lb springs which IMO is fine for most v6 applications with bumper and winch...if you start putting on super heavy skids (like 1/4" steel), dual batteries, a huge 12k winch with steel cable, etc. then maybe consider the 650lb springs or even 700lb

the stock 600's I have seem to ride perfectly fine with my bumper and winch. Likely won't change much when I get my skids on. They aren't featherweights, either. 3/16", but I have a full trans skid, too.

I cranked them down a bit to match the rear, so I'll end up cranking them back up once I start futzing with the rear suspension more.

yeah mine have felt way better since I installed my All Pro front bumper. Back when all I had was my IFS steel skid up front it was pretty rough driving around town. Offroad with the tires aired down and shocks warmed up they felt fine, but daily driving was pretty stiff.

I got them revalved to help which did help a little but not nearly as much as I'd hoped, adding more weight up there helped more than anything

How soon are you going to do this? I'm interested in (only) your front nitrochargers and may be over in Fruita, CO or Moab in the next month.

Yeah, hard to say for me. When I first go my Kings, I didn't even have a bumper/winch. I did soften it up when I lowered it to match the rear, but honestly even with that it was light years ahead of my 5100s. The the bumper and winch I could feel it "settle" a little better, but it still sits almost perfectly level without having touched the coils after the bumper winch.

But that's the nice thing about the coilovers. If they sag a little, just crank them up. I don't think I'll need to go to a 650# coil.

    @eon_blue

Are either of you at 2" of lift up front?

I plan on lessening the preload so I gain only 2" of lift and gain a slight bit more down travel. Wondering how many threads are exposed or how much space there is from the collar.

I used to have mine at 3" of lift but I was blowing cv boots even more than I do now so I lowered it some...I'm not sure what I'm at over stock now, probably between 2.25 and 2.5" over stock.

Cranking them up too high definitely stiffens up the ride too, I don't pretend to know how it all works but it's an intricate dance between spring rating, shock valving and preload lol.

I honestly don't know because I never really measured. I'm probably at 1" (ish) just because the rear is 1" with the shackle, and the front is more or less level now.

Oh same with Fox; preload is set to give me 2" of lift...that was before I got my bumper but even now it's only sagged less than 1/2" or so.

Shit that's right you're on the stock leaf pack.

Fuck...thinking I should go Deavers or Alcan which will lower my height but level me out if I'm conservative with my preload

@Indyteecee You order your stuff yet? I don't want to order more shit again before you
