If you notice, after a while, it's always "something." Literally, always a disaster in the making. War with Iran, trade war, China in general, hell even Trump getting elected caused panic. But the results of 10% annual returns should be what people focus on.

 

It is. We had our 3rd a few weeks ago, should be even sweeter next year

 

To sum this whole thread up, and why we’re all here talking about it so much:

You have to take the risk to get the reward.

You won’t find heated debate about CDs and bonds.

Crazy ups and downs today.

 

I have been on this thread more the past three days than any of the past three months. I am still curious about parallels with the past APoCaLypTIC "pandemics". Hoping to drop in to the market pretty hard in the next few days if I start seeing any marginal improvement

 

Overshooting to the downside now. Just like we overshot to the upside last year. I think now (or soon) is a very good time to dump in some money if you have it.

 

Jay Powell just added a lot of money back to my portfolio haha

 

...and I just did. No speculating but rather trying to buy these blue chips at a good price since I believe they will come back

 

It may go down another 10%. But you just bought in at about 15% cheaper than you could have last week. Always gotta look on the bright side.

From now, until 30 years from now, there should be 45+ more corrections. And stocks will be worth more then than now. We won't be talking about whether we bought Walmart at $100 or $120, it won't matter.

This chart makes late 2018 seem like a much more polite correction. This one was brutal!

 

Yee haw hold on tight! Not upping my 401k con but I will be looking to see if I can dump instead of DCA into my ira for 2020 soon.

 

I have a a feeling we are going to have a pre-weekend dump.. I don't think people are going to want to hold over the weekend. Too much time for "bad" headlines to come out!

 

To say I’m ready for it would be an understatement. I think 15% was the peak decline at today’s bottom, might as well make it 20%!

 

then cue the "bear market" headlines..

 

Just got an email from my brokerage firm about downturns haha

 

"Hey, if you're 95% of the people getting this email, you probably don't look at your portfolio more than twice a year, but now you are going to look at it since we sent you this email, and you're going to freak out about it and sell, which is going to make the market go down more.. oops wait no don't do that!!!!"
