Losing coolant

I’ve slowlyyyyyy been losing coolant and really slow at that matter.

is there suppose to be clamps on these two hoses?

 

No, but does not hurt to add some zip ties.

 

I’d also check the weep hole at the bottom of the water pump. Mine had pink crustiness on the overflow but the slow loss was from the water pump weep hole.

 

Why is there the pink crustiness on the overflow? Mine has that as well.

 

I was also losing a small amount from that hose. I replaced it when I did the water pump.

 

When I had my timing chain done did and the water pump replaced. Not long after I had a leak in the water pump area. Toyota fixed the gasket and refilled the coolant res. No more leak in that area.

 

2005.... check your water bypass pipe on the actual motor (its plastic and has since been updated to a metal one)

that pipe pictured is not under pressure and you would not loose coolant from it.

its underneath the intake manifold. Google 2TR water bypass hose.

Only a suggestion, make sure to look around for other causes as the bypass hose can be kinda a bitch to do.

 

Put zip ties or worm clamps on both ends. Then keep an eye on the coolant level.
