    I would definately seek out a capable gun finisher.

    The gun shop I deal with is Sierra Arms in Modesto. Peter (owner) is actucally very knowledgable about 1911s. And this is the type of thing he would totally geek out on. It would be worth giving the shop a call (but you definately want to talk to Peter specifically) and tell him what you have and ask him the best course of action would be.

    If that were my gun... I would 100%, absolutely, positively, take it down to Peter and start there.

    They checked my serial number (which they had on file) and found out that mine was in the batch of bad seals. ARB is apparently making it pretty difficult for the shops to get approval and paid, but they're doing it (like 3 months later).
    I've got no complaints about WFO, and they're pretty close to me, so that's a plus.
