How do you plan to link your upper leg with the lower leg?

Starting at Beatty you have a leg that goes north to roughly Saline Hot Springs. And you have a south leg starting at Beaty going to maybe Badwater, Dante's View, Marble Canyon, and then on the range overlooking Panamint Valley.

The two legs both start in Beatty, but it is the only location there they come together. I'm suggesting you will need to do more driving that isn't called out by one of your route markers.

AHhh!!!! I'm sorry if my map looks confusing, :(

If I'm coming through Panamint Valley, I'll spend two nights at Telescope (First night and Hiking the day after). Then I will head down to bad water and Dante's view and etc. The day after that I will go to Beatty check out that sweet candy store, hit up the ghost town Rhyolite and drive through Titus. Race track and Saline valley.

I see. You're gonna enter the park through Panamint. Makes more sense now!

While the hot springs are worth a visit, I’d only recommend you visit it if you can stay for a couple days. It’s a great place to relax, meditate, make new friends, but not a place you can appreciate in a few hours stop.

I think you're trying to pack in too much in one trip. It is doable but lots of driving to cover the largest national park outside AK.

Sometimes less is more. I'm not saying don't try to pack a lot in. Sometimes when you have too many places you are trying to fit in, you end up rushing and not getting the full experience of each spot. I am guilty of this sometimes too! We have a group that goes twice a year for 3-4 days, so I've learned to not try and fit too much in.

So true. i think it's easy to underestimate just how BIG DV is. Just going from one attraction to another can take a LOT of drive time, particularly once you start getting off pavement.

Heading out to DV on the 20th. Taking a friend out for their first time so we're gonna hit up Ibex Dunes, Saratoga springs, and then take HW/BW up to Furnace Creek. Damn Milky Way doesn't show up until 4am so that's gonna be fun waking up to take pictures

One of the reasons I try to plan my trips around the time the moon isn't visible

i love me some new moon trips to DV. Dont discount the full moon though. the way it lights up the surrounding mountain ranges is nothing short of incredible.

I've experienced both. I can see the moon anytime at home. Stars and the milky way are a treat in DV/OV.
