They own all local Propane suppliers in this County. Natural gas is available across the River for domestic use so not much demand outside this County. But they do deliver to Lower, middle and upper peninsulas.

So what is their excuse for missing your last delivery?

And didn’t YOU think “hmm I may run out of propane maybe I should call them before February”??

I live in VA and take my 100# tank to the local feed store or Tractor Supply to get it filled. All I needed was a small sticker with DOT placarding provided for free from the supplier. It usually costs between $70-$80 to get it filled to 22.5 gal. The only stipulation is that be transported in an open air environment (pickup truck) and in a vertical position.

It only feeds a gas fireplace and I go through about 3-4 tankfuls in the winter.

Had hassle from propane supplier once...didn't use enough gas, taking their tank and going home unless I paid a ridiculous rental fee (can't remember amount). So I bought a 420litre tank (just under 100 gallons). Changed suppliers later and they just had to check all the appliances.

I had to remind the present supplier (small family company) that I owned the tank, no rental on the bill please. Took one or two times, the phone calls were always a laugh. Finally got written on the account that I owned the tank. Fill ups every 2 years...hot water and cooking.

@ralfnjan I purchased my tank when I switched from Elect range and water heater. The rental fee for 1 year would have been more than the new tank cost. My gas use of less than $10 mo. has been an issue with the supplier since first fill up when they wanted to rent me a larger tank because the one I bought was inadequate. Corporations have no need for Scruples.

I think my tank cost about $500USD. Rent was about $50 per year. Just cheap.
