did you try removing that bracket to see if the bolt hole was behind that bump (where the other bolt goes?) Then all you would need is the extra bolt. i find it hard to believe you dont have the hole but are just missing a bolt. (or 2)

Pro tip: when installing things never tighten down any bolts until all bolts are in place. (like a poster above suggested)

Yep...SR with no sensors....I live in San Diego. There is a 4WP here though, so return to the store for full refund is not a problem. Not having a rear bumper until a new one is ordered and arrives is my only concern.

That would be an interesting experiment...almost 100% sure that the spacing between the holes is different anyways. I see what you mean about that bump though. I thin what I hear you saying is that maybe that whole black sleeve comes off and could be replaced with a different sleeve that has the holes in the right configuration? Anyone have experience doing that?

Well guys...it appears that Caleb BC is not only the resident asshole, but also the resident genius...I found an OEM tow package on ebay that supposedly fits 2016-2019 and can now see that the he is right that it is a complete package...see the photo below...My aftermarket receiver hooks up in a different way that n this setup and doesn't even bolt in to the area in question. The stock factory tow package DOES bolt on in that area, which would obviously provide more support/towing capacity.

Turns out that I am an asshole too and should eat some humble pie...4WPs still fucked up by insisting that it would fit, "no problem" without the tow package. Turns out that salesmen are inclined to sell shit....

Someone here on TW is giving one of those away. I saw it yesterday. I just looked for you and can't find it. Do some searching on your own and I'll look and I'll link if I find it. GL.

Makes sense, I'm pretty sure my SR looks the same as yours. My Curt hitch bolts onto the bottom of the frame rails and ties into the bumper tube bit.

Does the Fab fours have a hitch integrated or is it supposed to keep the factory hitch?

Maybe update the title since they specifically call out the tow package and you didn’t read the fine print.

Wait...a...minute...not so sure anymore...here is the other side of the sleeve. Not same bolt configuration as the fab fours bracket. IMG_20200229_081034.jpg

Yeah most of the fab fours require the factory tow hitch.

supposed to have factory tow package. I assumed that having the Curt installed would work...when 4WP confirmed that it would, I pulled the trigger.

If you need a factory hitch you can post a WTB local in the 3rd Gen marketplace, a lot of members take them off for high clearance bumpers.

I'll make this super simple for you... pick up beforehand 2 bolts, washers, and nuts... (aprroximately a M14 (take one of your bumpers flange bolts, and you may find a matching flange bolt/nut thread pitch, and whatnot DO NOT MATTER HERE) and some black paint, or your wife/GF nail polish..

#1 bolt the new bracket up with the existing 2 bolt holes (loosely so its just snug, but you can move/slide it with some effort)

#2 find a center punch, punch the center of that slot allowing some play in the bracket (forewards, and backwards for fitment/adjustment)

#3 Drill into the bracket, and frame with an appropriate sized drill bit

#4 paint drilled hole to prevent rust

#5 put bolt in hole, apply nut/washer, or flange nut to the backside, use 2 wrenches (leave it loose for adjustment)

#6 attach bumper tighten these bolts to spec first.. you may need to loosen the other 3 to adjust the bumper in/out..

#7 adjust bumper in out by visual checking fitment, and measuring.. adjust to preference, and then mark with a paint marker, and tighten down... check fitment again, and double check torque on ALL fasteners. apply green locktite if you question bolts/nuts coming loose.

    ALL DONE!!!

and yes I understand your frustration with this not being a complete bolt on, but you should realize by now that any mods you do to any vehicle you are going to have to midify some items to make them work, and sometimes you find some mods that dont play well together.. in retrospect if you dont plan to use the bumper for tow/recovery point you could secure with just the 2 bolts on each side and be done with it.. however, more bolts = more better-er... the sheer strength chart here...

Not sure that this can easily be added to a Tacoma without a tow package after looking at my setup...would require..It looks like the existing frame that the factory hitch needs to bolt on to would need to be replaced too.

You're a total stud for laying this out for me...Much appreciated...the problem is that #1 is impossible, as the two bolt holes do not line up bracket configuration, no matter how I try.

You can just take off the Curt and install the Toyota hitch.

how far off? like a mm or two? if its close then pull out a file, or die grinder and widen the hole... beleive me I came from the jeep world, and had to modify a LOT to make it all work.. in the end you'll be glad you did.. as long as this bumper fits the body style...
