That’s a good price in my opinion.

Sooooo.. something happened that I never experienced before while buying a car.
Side note: the truck I was buying had be taken from a different dealer.

I put my down payment down yesterday thinking I be getting the car with the same VIN. The dealer told me to pick up today, so before I went down to pick up they sent me a pic of the sticker. I noticed it was a different VIN and different price. I questioned it to the sales guy that I was buying from... long story short he kept saying it’s same car just had to get a different one with similar specs and I ended up not buying it from them. They got pissed.
At the end of the day I ended up signing for the truck that I wanted from a different dealer down the street. Soooo is this normal practice? You sign for a car and put down payment on it but they give you a doppelgänger with about 700 bucks difference. Less cost towards the dealer.

I had a similar situation, no down payment but had reached an agreement with the sales guy via email on a specific truck and price. When I went down to sign they said it was no longer available.

I was told the truck they were dealer swapping for initially ended up having "additional accessories" installed on it that don't show up on the spec sheet. In my case it was an $800 "rock chip protection". They offered a similar vehicle from another dealership that didn't have the "rock chip" stuff.

I didn't feel great about it because it was something unexpected and I thought about leaving. I couldn't really figure out any angle they'd be shooting there, and they knocked the price down $150 bucks so I took it.

Bait and switch, unfortunately it's a common practice. Good for you for walking away.

So it is normal practice ... Lesson learned. This sucks.
I appreciate the feed back guys.
The thing that gets me is I showed them the truck I wanted with the specs and the whole time I was dealing with them on pricing I thought we were dealing with the same truck. Shouldn't they tell me hey before you sign this contract it is a dolperganger of the truck your buying just with out a foot runner (The truck I wanted Had it and it made the price to 43 MSRP. The one they wanted to give me had 42MSRP without the foot runner). FUCKERS. hahaha

^^I would say that is not normal practice. I don't know what state you are in, but where I am located up to 6k off MSRP is possible. Obviously that is contingent on time of year and month, not a bad price OP. Enjoy the manual, and you can't talk about this truck without pics! Congrats on the new ride.

Yeah some pics have it and some dont. Is someone just having fun with MS Paint?? As far as I know it wasn't added back for 2020.

PS it looks like all the pics of this truck are stock photos as they show SRS trim based on the wheels and interior colors.

Look a little more closely at that photo showing the handle on the "driver" side and you can see the steering wheel is on the passenger side. So it's either a non-US model or (more likely) the photo was flipped to make it line up more aesthetically with the listing.

Run away from the crooks. I would never do business with a dealership that would try to pull something like that.

I am running. I ran far away lol.
They keep calling me. Now they are at 34k out the door with my trade. But I already put a deposit down on another dealer yesterday. Easiest transaction ever. Told them what I want and what I wanted for trade and they beat the dealer. So even if the shady dealer doesn't refund my money for some reason I am still at 36k out the door. And for get this crazy experience.
I will post pics once I pick up on wednesday or thursday.

Sounds good. They should refund your money.
