Biennial means every two years...biannual means twice every year

I learned this while getting smogged as a matter of fact

Only for the purposes of rubbing it in. Washington has eliminated all vehicle testing for vehicles that already have a title (basically anything that isn't home built). So I just inspect/test my own stuff, because freedom!

Hmm, kind of a toss up then. I don't know if they'll warm up the truck.

Does it automatically start in an open loop everytime you restart the truck, even if it was just driven?

Yup, until the throttle is blipped usually when warm or until x time has passed for O2 sensor heater to come up

The boost sensor also sticks out like a sore thumb, it uses a household plumbing fitting haha.

My favorite smog place was demolished to build a 7/11.

Warm it up before you bring it in, you'll be more likely to pass. Make sure your emissions systems are green/ready via your OBDII reader too otherwise they'll tell you to come back when they are

Never get smogged with a cold truck

I couldn't get my hands on one of the fancy stainless ones with the right thread and I didn't feel like cutting a bunch of pex line

Hmm, maybe I'll put the brown ones back then. I hope they don't care about the sensors for the gauges.

Usually there is a wait so they ask me to park it, by the time they get to it it's cold.

Meh hope they don't care about it. Should I take it out or leave it?

Oh they have to drive it? All bets are off, I'd wait in the truck with it on if it were me

They won't care, it doesn't do anything besides monitor.

I'd go somewhere else then if it's truly cold by the time they get to it. My smog place is a couple miles away but I cruise down the highway a few more exits and then back before taking it in to make sure it's completely warmed up

In WA when we still had dyno testing they had me drive it on and hold the throttle for the test.

I have to look for a new smog place because since my last smog it was demolished. My dad has been taking it there since 1999.

I actually asked the smog tech last time. He laughed at me and said "No, it's not that kind of Dyno."

Nah, they aren't really dynos, just big load cells. They load the vehicle down to 2500-3000lbs

    4 run, 2 don't
I've never had an issue with having larger injectors and getting smogged.

I'm not sure how it is with our Tacoma's, but I've had plenty of vehicles I've tuned myself (and those that were tuned by others) pass smog.

It's only after a specific amount of input from the throttle, does the system go into closed loop.

And only then, depending on how it's tuned, will it run as rich/lean as your tune is configured.

You'd know if you were running rich, and even then you'd witness it only at WOT.

I'd say, leave the injectors you've got in, unless you're replacing other parts with stock ones and the injectors are one of those "while I'm there" kind of things...

    Bummer

In CO diesel emissions tests are done by private shops. My buddy had his done at a shop that told him the dyno numbers after
