I think only the man, ovtune, has the power to change this.

I have never noticed that. I could see where that would be handy, though.

It's not, you could be going down the road at 80 and kick it over to s mode and it'll scream up to 4th. I'm re gearing to 5.29 and it will be even worse, so any way to change it up, mod wise will be awesome. I havn't poked around in TS yet but just got my dongle for it the other day.

You search the mod-list, but don't find anything of interest.
Anyone have any info on Techstream working on a 2019? All the cables and software I'm finding relate back to 16-18.. any info would be appreciated.

The version in my signature works for 2019s. Any compatibile cable will work with any year, although the Tactrix, or OVT Tactrix, is highly recommend.

    Canada Eh!
I just did a bunch of TS stuff on my 2020 using OVT’s cable.

Nice to be able to tweak all the lighting setting, unlock/re locking functions, seat belt chime, turn signal count etc.

FYI there was also an option to turn remote start on and off. I was able to toggle it “On”, but obviously it does nothing with the MT. I would have assumed it would have been greyed for the MT truck. It makes me suspect that ALL 2020 AT Tacoma’s are remote start capable, just needs to be turned on via TS.

Did you use the version of TS linked in @lapoltba 's or my signature for that? I believe that up to now, we were assuming that version would only work through the 2019s.

It was a TS version through somebodies signature. Can’t remember who, but pretty sure it wasn’t yours.

It will still work, but the newer features may or may not be supported. I don't know of any official release notes that says what is/isn't supported, but I also haven't looked.

With @CdnSldr being able to do customizations, that is pretty stellar.

Of course, there might be other limitations.

I’ll check after work this evening.

Any idea what wouldn’t be supported?

The menus seemed pretty in depth. Can modify how aggressively auto climate control tries to achieve desired temp, how sensitive the light sensor is for auto headlights; both for how easily they turn on and off...just to give a few examples.

I’ll take some screenshots of the various menus and post them.

For V12, all that we could do on 2018s was the TSB tune because that didn't require launching TS, which wouldn't connect.

So, just getting into TS on a 2020 is a big deal given our earlier assumption. I don't have any doubt that you would be able to do TSB updates.

The only other thing would be diagnostics and monitoring. Pretty much the same function.

If you import the datalogging list from the zip file, you should be able to see a bunch of live parameters with the engine running.

One really neat thing to see in TS is the TPMS monitoring. Live at 0.01psi with temperature. Stuff like that makes info-whores like me happy.

Really? as far as I knew V12 should have been fully compatible with 2018s at least.

Nope v12 TS would not connect to 18s. Upgrade ECU firmware yes, but that is all

What @TeecoTaco said. I updated another TW'ers 2018 MT, but could only do customizations with Carista.

    EDIT*
Nevermind I was confused and thought we were talking about V14 not v12 for some reason...... Yes, V12 doesn't work past 2017.
