    Boom.
I'm just so sick of hearing vets thinking they are entitled because of their service. They make the rest of us look like idiots.

No, the reason it was offensive to me is because the dealership was “using” active duty discounts as an excuse to pretend to be offering a discount to the general public and then retract the discount under the guise of a military discount. I suppose I don’t need to be a vet to find that completely dishonest.

I didn’t communicate this very well. I wasn’t expecting a vet discount. I just don’t like to see a dealership pretend to be offering a general sale price and then use the excuse of, oh you’re not active duty when it wasn’t advertised that way. It’s deceptive. And it uses active duty folks as an excuse to be deceptive. Which I find doubly irritating.

The general public isn't in the military so you're reasoning doesn't even make sense.

Brother, I was kind about it the first time.

Reread my original post. A discounted price was advertised by the dealership. Nothing about it being specific to military. I went in and test drove the truck, then they gave me a price sheet without the sale price. They said it was only for active duty only. It was not advertised that way.

Make enough sense to you now? Next time don’t jump to conclusions, thanks.

I was very happy with the purchase of my Tacoma at the only Toyota dealership in a 400km radius. The Honda dealership wasn't the best but still not bad when I bought my car. I figure a lot of that was me being stupid and young and not knowing what I was getting myself into. The Toyota dealership walked me through plenty of vehicles over a 2 year span until I decided what I wanted never pushing me to purchase or buy accessories or addons I didn't want.

Same experience with the Penske dealer in Memphis. Ordered my truck the way I wanted it. (I know you can’t do that). They required no upfront money and said when it arrived if I didn’t want they would sell it. No hassles with the finance guy. The shipping cost had increased from the time I “ordered” it until it arrived. They ate that increase.
2nd truck I bought from them. First one was the same story.
