Well crap I just got home from there.

 

I went to New Baltimore and hung out at the bow shop for a while. I'm going to try and start shooting again after the 2 shoulder surgeries so making some adjustments and visitting. I used to work there part time and shoot for the shop

 

I need to get out there to get a string and some arrows. Friend of a friend gave me recurve to start shooting with.

 

Ask to speak with Farron, stocky dude, tell hm Chris Carter sent you he will get you set up. Be prepeared he will be making sure the bow actually fits you first and that it is for the correct hand.

 

I'd love to get my hands on an authentic Mongolian horse bow. Those things are NASTY. Ask any European knight in full plate armor and they would say the same if they weren't KIA.

 

You know I was just talking to an ancient knight in full armor just yesterday I should have asked. But yes the Mongolian horse bows were outstanding and much more efficient and powerful than their European counterparts

 

The Mongolian bows were devastating and there's interesting debate on if the English Yew bow was better or on par with it ... but regardless, the power of the Mongolian bow was amazing but nothing compared to the skill the Mongol warriors had with it when firing from horseback at full speed with pinpoint accuracy ... quite a contrast to the English archers who would fire while standing still. #lovehistory

The Mongolians use of the recurve design was what greatly increased the power and efficiency of the bows while allowing them to be made much shorter for use on horseback. If you want to learn to shoot sometime let me know you can come out and I’ll teach you I have about 15 training bows here. Our new bows are technical marvels comparitively yet the romance remains in shooting a traditional bow

 

Have a few 3rd gen parts with 4k miles to offload. Offroad Suspension, nerf steps, and wheels/tires w/ TPMS. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Time to weld some shit

 

Starting with the doors on my wife's car. She's a big Dukes of Hazard fan.

 

That is a great little 110v welder! I used one of these for many years in autobody until we became required to use a 200+ amp welder. Take good care of it and you'll get many years of use from it.

 

Sweet! Glad to hear an endorsement from someone who knows. I was worried. I know Hobart is a good brand, but wasn't sure about the welder itself. Even better that I got a good deal on it.

Don’t drag your feet on getting a tank of gas either. Kinda spendy initially but makes a load of difference with being able to produce decent welds as a beginner. It’s easier to see the puddle.

 

Oh yeah, no doubt about that. Get yourself a tank of 75/25 and a spool of .030 wire and you'll be money!
