I was told that if the owner buys it then the title never is classified as salvage because it does not ever change owners. Again, I’m not sure but I think it is worth to look into it. Good luck.

Huh, I'll have to look into that. Looks like MA, my state, has an Owner-Retained Title option, with different criteria than a straight up Salvage title. But sounds like it will always have a secondary-brand of collision.

    Anybody know anything about this?

25k is more than reasonable. Most dealerships probably pay less than 20k if you were to trade it.

You are trying to get it not totaled ? That's a bad decision , if it has that much damage it will never be same . Get as much as you can and move on .

I agree that if your car has enough damage to total a 25k truck then I would prefer to have them just total it rather than fight to get it repaired. If you are concerned about the depreciation from a salvage title then take note that the degree of damage to your truck will also now be on the carfax and that would also have a material impact on the resale value down the road. Don't fight with insurance over a few hundred dollars to bring the value up beyond the "total loss" threshold, it is not worth it in my opinion

If you're curious, truck isn't badly damaged. Take a look at my other thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/updated-rear-ended-help.646848/

And here are some pics with the bed off:

It’s the Monroney Sticker and often (almost always) called the window sticker.
Here is a site that claims it can reproduces most Window Stickers.
If sticker can not be reproduced, it claims to still have a break down of options and packages.

    https://monroneylabels.com/

I’m not affiliated with them in any ways.
Never used the service or one like it.
I just knew the actual name of the sticker. ( You can learn a lot from late nights watching YouTube)

    Maybe it can help you.
