Yeah I'm going to go to home Depot and make a hand dredge. I have a good little hole along a bedrock/fault line, but it's difficult to get material out because depth of water and the angle. The material and the end of the shovel tends to just fall off when I scoop, because of the angle. Plus, it's hard with the bedrock.

So I was going to get a crevice tool and make a sucker.

I'll try and clean out the crevices the best I can with the glorified coat hanger, then suck as much up and see if I actually ran into anything good in this spot I've been working on for some time.

My theory had been that the majority of the large/good stuff has been missed due to it falling off the shovel when I extract.

Well see on Saturday I suppose!

I definitely want to go. My trucks suspension is tired after 25 years but it should hold up a bit longer.:D I could do either of those treks I'm sure.

    Hey all!

We're going out on this Saturday up the Forest Hill area. We plan on meeting around 9/10am I'm the area and convoying out from there.

There might be light/moderate 4wd. There may not.

If you have some (panning) gear and are interested in doing some prospecting and looking to tag along let me know!

I also have room for 1 in my cab if you prefer.

Mostly I don't have a tent. I could always bum it in my truck I guess. I do have a sleeping bag (summer one), cooking stuff, and a cooler already.

Here my findings for the day. Not too bad for only a few buckets of panning. Definitely found some spots we wanna go through more material in the future.
