I could do that too I guess. But I also like saving for a house someday too.

@cruiserguy if you needed to change the rear main seal on your LC100, would you drop the transmission or pull the engine?

That's quite the job on those pigs. I dunno, I'm thinking have the engine chained to the cherry picker and mounts loosened up, but I think I'd drop the tranny/transfer case.
But if I did pull engine for rear main seal, I'm absolutely doing all the other seals and gaskets while its out. And the starter contacts, starter is in the V under the intake.

Unbolting the transmission from the bell housing on a 100 doesn't look to be too bad of a job. I need to look again. I have an engine hoist. The problem I get into is the garage door is too low to lift the engine high enough to clear the front cross member by the radiator. I had to roll the Taco out of the garage to pull the engine, then roll it back in while I worked on it and got it ready for the swap.

The engine stabilizer bar was a real help during the swap. I can lift the engine with the stabilizer bar a few inches to remove the motor mounts, then lower it for working on the transmission.

I backed the LX into the garage this morning. I have more room with it in the garage than I had with the Taco. The LX is about 10 inches shorter than the Taco.

I should pull the hood to give me some extra working room. Once I get started on the engine, I know I will want to do my usual refresh routine.
