1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Saw a Consumer Reports recently that put the 3rd Tacoma gen in the 'compact' segment ... What does that make our 1st gens lol. Mini trucks I guess

 

really? tacoma is midsize by definition. compact is long dead. the last gen ranger was the last compact truck.
my tundra is a fullsize (borderline in 05)... but by todays standards a midsize

The only two first gens in that entire Texas HF event. I did some ride alongs on the harder trails in a locked second gen on 35s.

And it’s pretty much the widest vehicle that would fit on this one riverbed trail.

 

From the looks of it some of those 3rd gen bumpers are questionable and an acquired taste.

 

That is an interesting bumper. It looks like it allows excellent approach angle but those hoops.... First bump or nudge into the bumper will push those hoops right into the hood and crap.
Damage multiplier = achievement unlocked

 

One of the Arizona 3rd gen guys that was with us this weekend is looking at getting that bumper. I was thinking the same as you but the nice thing is, those hoops can be cut off. That'd be my route at least.

I don't think you can get a better looking bumper than what @RelentlessFab makes. I might get one for the GX.
