So as the title says, I've never owned a truck and just bought a new one. The link to the auction with pics is posted below. Here's my question. As one who's never owned a truck before this, I'm wondering what it will look like modified. The seller told me that he is going to put a 3" lift on it and some off road tires. What I would like is for someone who has the same truck (Prerunner, white, black fenders) to post pics of how it looks with a similar or the same lift. Any shots would be appreciated as I have no idea what 3" translates into. Thanks!

Link doesn't work cuz the auction ended.

But the seller is going to put a lift on and tires for you? For free? Hope it's not a scam. Seems odd to sell it stock, then lift it once it's not his anymore.

He was going to do it anyway because the truck wasn't selling. We factored the cost of upgrades into the final selling price. I'll try to get some pics up but it's a 2009 Access Cab Prerunner. It's white with the black fenders and the wheels are silver wheels from an '03 Tundra.

Looks like a good deal for the price and the low miles. You can easily rattle can the back bumper to fix the scrapes. Any idea what wheel/tire/lift set up they plan on adding?

i have a 3'' lift, but no black fenders or bumpers. don't let the guy set you up with a cheap lift, tires, and wheels. it would be better to have it stock than to have a crappy setup.

Find out what kind of lift/wheels/tires he is planning on putting on there and post it here. People will be able to tell you if it is good. Make sure he isn't putting on a spacer lift. (That is a definite sign of him being cheap) Some rims I think would look pretty cool on there are moto metal 951's, check em out.

Have no clue. Said something about 3" lift and possibly some Tundra wheels. Unfortunately, I'm the clueless one in this deal but I trust that he knows what he's doing and I've told him that I'd like a lift but nothing obnoxious.

Thanks, I'll investigate further. And what is a spacer lift?

    Very nice! Thanks!

So if I wanted to go with white fenders how difficult would that be?

Dude mine were white and I covered them with vinyl...lol. I heard to take them off the tabs break. I am sure you can find someone to swap out. But you will ave to find a white bumper cause white fenders and a black bumper don't look good.

If you can get him to give you all the specs then we can tell you if what you're getting is worth it or if you're better off leaving it as is. :)

Lift kit: manufacturer? part number? what's he lifting the rear with? blocks or add-a-leafs?
Wheels: brand & model? new or used?
If they are coming from a trundra, what year and style tundra? (example: base, sr5 or limited tundra).
What tire size? Is he planning on reusing the tires that are on it now? I ask because if the new tire size is 285 (33" tire), it may have some serious rubbing issues if the wheels dont have the correct backspacing and offset.

Whatever you do, dont stress about it. TW will help you get your truck in top notch shape. Plus you got a good deal and no one regrets driving a taco. :D

Look up spacer lift on google images to see what it looks like. It is basically a cheap lift that yields a not so great ride.

Just heard from the seller. He says that he's putting a billet spacer lift on it. Is this going to be something I regret? I'm not very liquid at the moment so I can't afford anything more expensive right now. Would it be better to leave it stock or just use the spacer lift until I can get a better one?
