    I live 20 minutes and away and fish there often. Camping personally is not worth it. Your camping in a designated campground close to many, many others. Camping is on like gravel and dirt. The hiking trails are nothing more than a path though some fields. Fishing is ok but very hit and miss. The big fish are on opposite side of lake with no shore access. Having a kayak or renting one is better. Lots of undergrowth in the lake. Anything other than topwater and weedless setups will get snagged for bass. There are monster bass in there, surprisingly but very hard to find. Trout is the most common fished species there with soaking powerbait. So basically not worth a 4 hour drive, in my opinion.

    Thank you. One friend has a canoe, but my other friend who is retiring has a way of using poor campsites, even when she was able to backpack. Three hours to Sac, then whatever time to the area from there.

    Going back probably in the fall when I come back to California to visit. Will keep you in mind if interested. It's been awhile since I've seen/wheeled with most of you guys.
