    Also exercise the shit out of it before training. It'll go smoother for both of you.

    Other things is to not use its name negatively (use no or aaa-aaa) instead. Plus, dont repeat yourself or raise your voice. If it doesnt listen the first time physically move to the dog to get it do what you told it too. It'll quickly learn to listen the first time.

    See the contradiction is not putting him in the kennel after a bad act but not showing him the support and love after a bad one.

    I’m not trying to disown him, but letting him know I’m displeased by not giving him the attention and love he wants. I don’t want him to think of his kennel/cage as a bad place but a safe place.

    It’s early, and like I said his escape isn’t the issue it’s his going for the trash can that is.

    As i was here for neither and scolded him over the trash only, it’s a work in progress.

    He’s had pets since!
