Hey guys I'm from Nova Scotia. Came down this week to see 3 Maple Leaf hockey games and tour the cities. Was in San Francisco the weekend and San Jose till Tuesday. I am heading down to LA and Anaheim for the rest of the week and I'm wondering a good safe place to stay hotel wise? Or should i look at something else?
Also interested in walking into Mexico for the day and wondering anyone's thoughts on that?
    Thanks for the help

Walking into Mexico right now isn't an advisable thing to do. I see too many confidential reports and I'd prefer you didn't become a statistic.

Mexico is fine. Go all the time.

if you come to OC, just stay away from the motels on Beach Blvd. other than that you’re okay.

Hilton in the City if Orange isn’t too far from the Honda Center where the Ducks play.

There is going to be a lot of hotels near the Duck's stadium considering it's also close to DisneyLand and Angel Stadium.

    Thanks for the responses.
The Mexico thing I looked it up and it seemed that it was simple on YouTube videos. I'll have to do a bit more searching if it seems unsafe which I wouldn't doubt

Pasadena is a great place to stay, it's close to DTLA, next to Alhambra which in my opinion has the best food in LA, and it's reasonably safe. Many things to do in Pasadena.

I can. People worry too much. I’m more afraid walking around Santa Ana than I am going into Mexico.

My old lady was telling me something about the border being closed because of the corona virus. That might be something to take into consideration if you’re planning a trip down south.

Mission Beach boardwalk ( loooong with lots to see, food, etc. ) or Hotel Del's beach since nice and clean. Hotel Del is also a National Landmark - free to roam around!

There is a dog beach in Orange County, or you can go to Venice in the LA area has some shops and stores (pretty touristy).

Would you guys recommend one of those day trip tours to Mexico instead of walking ourselves? Really wanting to go down there.
If not what are some cool things to do in a day there? Waking up early and wanting back for the game at 7 in Anaheim.
