All good haha @Shveet is in the same boat as you right now

5100’s and ome nitro chargers are about as cheap as it gets but they seem to be pretty reliable

6115’s are a step up from that

Theres anothe brand called elka (i think) some guys here are running and seem good

kings, fox, icon and some bilstein shocks are all top dollar

im not super familiar with rear shocks yet so some one else can chime in here

    aal will work
New leaf pack is the better option though

Dont forget other mods like skids, bumper and winch, once you get those all on the truck (if thats what your planning on doing) you’ll need heavier spring rates.

unfortunatly i dont think there is an “end all” solution other than to just buy every single mod and just build it all at once

Note: i have made progress on the suspension. I'll run them stock until i blow them out.

THEN i'll worry about suspension :bananadead:

Hahaha gotta pull the trigger on something then go from there. There really isn't a wrong answer unless you choose spacers.

well taking to @tacoma16 he brought up that the stock OR suspension can handle what i'm doing and planning on doing but that i should look into aftermarket bump stops. more or less along the lines to limit min/maxing out the travel and letting the suspension not destroy itself if it does hit the limits.

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut that's a beast i don't want to dip my toes into just yet. maybe talk it out at the cars and coffee.

@19Canuck STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE, IT'S CURSED AND YOU'LL NEVER BE SATISFIED WITH A SINGLE ANSWER. D: there are too many options

A bit more than a couple g's I'm afraid
Indeed. At some point there's a tradeoff between performance and comfort/maintenance as well, just like with sports car suspensions.

That's something I can relate to.
I'm going back to my original plan of spacers:alien::alien::alien::alien:

I'll remain here, mostly stock, never fully committed to anything :p

    @tgelata
but naa, in all and all; For what i think i'm actually doing (wheeling), what i actually do (commute 1-2 hours a day in Toronto bound traffic to go to and from a 8am-to-5pm office job, 5 days a week), what i have done (Mazinaw and Ardbeg was actually the hardest things i've done), what i'm planning on doing in the next few years (Ardbeg again because we adopted the trail and i'd like to take on the arctic trip), for what i actually need (worst case of all things that would happen in the future would be stuff that i need for the arctic trip but that isn't a huge requirement since it's 50% driving on asph and the other 50% on gravel roads, but realistically black loop trail if anything) - but being the undecided fool that i am

all out weigh what i want (which is i have no idea what i want)

TLDR: i over analyzed this to the point where i gave up because i have no idea what i want to do anymore. i thought car modding would be easier than PC building, but boooooooy am i wrong

I don’t really wash the truck so meh lol. I’ll have to check it out. With all the modifications to my frame I need to keep Everything from rusting.

Many different options all based on what you are doing.

usually 5100’s with stock coils and a add a leaf is a good start. I went with OLd man emu and the Dakar leaf pack. Talking to @pete37 may be good as he has the hook ups at his store!

Depending on what your doing, spacers can fit the bill. Just make sure you add in bump stop extensions. If you don’t your shock will bottom out Before hitting the bump and you’ll have a shock failure

This is exactly why I ask...saves me money and headaches!
So you went with OME front coils with the 5100's?
Also I didn't realize axle wrap was an issue with these trucks!

I went with old man emu NitroChargers shocks with the 886 (heavy) coils. Dakars in the rear with billistein b110 at the moment.

Will be changing the front suspensions to fox 2.0's with 700lb coils hopefully. My OME stuff has over 100k on them and the bushings need to be replaced. may as well swap it all out.
