:DDiamondback HD cover and other mods got tested some more out in the wild this weekend. Overdue for upgrade mods with suspension, wheels and tires. ...however, stock suspension, wheels and tires have been good enough for some memorable adventures the past couple years. :D

    Looks great!! And Great shots!!!

What size RTT is that? Is that a Front Runner rack too? I like your Front Runner set-up and how you can open the front compartment while the tent is on.

My CVT Mt Shasta would be hard pressed to fit like that I think.

Nice Pics! What are you running on your roof rack if you don't mind me asking? Gear wise.

Thanks! The tent is a Tepui Ayer 2, 2person rtt that I bought on sale at the local REI a couple years back. Someday, if it’s God’s will, I’m gonna try to see if an rtt the size of the iKamper Skycamp Mini, X-Cover Mini, or one of their knock offs (licensees) can fit and allow for the front panel of the DB cover to still open up.

Please see my write up on the bed rack install below, post #3 of this thread. The DB HD Cover paired with the FRO Slimline II rack systems have been great. Mike at LLOD on youtube has helped to spread the greatness of the pairing and I’ve seen the setup on other trucks besides our beloved Tacos. It is pricey, but it’s custom; meaning, if you’ve got the know how and resources, then you can imitate this setup with your own design at possibly a lower cost.

It varies on the trip. Right now, it’s recovery gear in a 42”er gun case on passenger side, long side parallel to the sides of the truck. Driver side has the Front Runner snowboard/fishing rod carrier. The pics show the USA camp chair I got from Bass Pro Shops nestled between those, the bathroom tent, and possibly the wannabe Trasheroo bag I got with a folding hand truck from Target next to that tent. Those I just secured with bungee cords.

Edit: I forgot, there’s also the Razorback axe from Home Depot mounted on passenger side of the Slimline II roof rack, next to the gun case.

I know my truck is a dirty girl right now, but this TRD off road actually does see off road use.

I'm loving this DB cover + Front runner combo. Such a great setup!

This is the most intriguing rack option I’ve seen yet. I don’t need something to haul a RTT and one of the reasons I bought the diamondback was the be able to access stuff in the front and back of the bed. This keeps that option open- would be cool to see as a basket!

Really like the mounting system on this. I’ll have to hit him up. Thinking the same mounting/pivoting feet with a basket and a wider stance. Low profile basket mimicking something like this:

Similar setup as LLOD & BattlecryTaco

I used a Yakima Skyrise tent largely because I liked the mounting system but the mounting clamps don't open wide enough for the Front Runner load bars.

As a result, I have to undo the four bolts and slide the bars from the side.

Not too bad actually, easy peasy.

I did the same, and was a little disappointed that they don't warranty the cross bars like they do the racks. The cross bar setup isn't exactly a bargain.

I'm happy with it, but it's about time FrontRunner sells this as a kit with 4x 2ft rails and a 6" set, all with the lifetime warranty and free S&H.
