    Thanks Jon.
I had an image of what i wanted the truck to look like and how i needed it to perform. When i stumbled upon your build, it was pretty much the look that i had in mind except it was in full color and not in pencil and computer sketches.

Your truck was quite the inspiration for my build.

    I'll check out the links.
when are you coming back down south? I think i may head home to indiana this weekend if i don't make the URA meet.

Yea. There still there. I have em wire tied and surprised they still work.
Need to go to the yamaha dealer today and look around. See what they got. Most all bikes have em on stalks but there's a few flush mounts that look like they may work. I'm going to try and mod them into the 2 little plastic pieces in the grill that look like vents.(fake). Just havn't messed with it much since they still work.

I was looking at that idea as well. When you say "slack", your talking about the turn signal wiring harness, correct? It looks like there is enough there to just pull on up and maybe drill a new hole in the back of the headlight and mount it right in.
That looks very doable to be. If you get a chance this weekend, throw up some pics in here for me.

I used photomatix to render the fake slr/hdr images. i wish I had a good slr camera but i'm stuck with this shitty 7.2 meg cybershot. I'm envious of the guys that post up with there camera rigs and know when, where and how to take a picture.
And once again Tacomarroto.... thx for the inspiration. :)

Hey I like the truck, your paint still shines like it is new.

I am wondering about your suspension. So the only thing that is providing your lift in the rear is add-a-leafs? And in the front, did you put in longer control arms or anything like that? I feel like it would be a lot of stress on the stock stuff with how much lift you have.

    Thanks

Thx. I try and take care of it as much as I can. I wheel it pretty good on the weekends but not to hard. I know the limitations of the suspension and what the truck will and will not do. I ALWAYS inspect it after an off road trip and it gets washed/waxed and fluid changes sooner than regular intervals.
Take care of your things and they will take care of you. Whether its vehicles, weapons, friends, family, whatever.
The truck came with 31's from the factory so the 33's that are on it now are not that much bigger. What can I say except that I really, really enjoy my truck.

I respect that statement a lot and have always tried to follow those same philosophies myself.

I have only had my 2001 Tacoma since February of this year so its not really the greatest example of my personality, at least not yet. I am currently working on getting the body back to where it should be and i also plan on getting my suspension and tires done before winter hits.

There are no dings or major flaws with the paint. The previous owner seemed to take pretty decent care of it except for there are some paint chips (quite a few along the rocker panels and along the bottom of the doors) and I notice that the paint is starting to oxidize a bit. A good paint cleaner or claybar job and polishing should fix that though, I just haven't had a chance to do it yet. Of course I waxed it when I bought it though.

I plan on putting 285/75r16 sized tires on with about a 2.5 suspension lift:
    - Bilstein 1500s on the front and rear(already ordered)
    - OME 881 coils
    - OME 5 leaf springs for the rear

Thanks for letting me know the info on your truck. Now I know for sure that the bigger tires will fit with the lift that I am planning.
