You know, I have never done that with my wheel, but I have had intermittent steady and cyclical vibes at different time sinces about 3,500mi. It went away just before the 5k service then came back and stayed about the same. If it is the cyclical and goes away with 4Hi, then the ECGS bushing is probably the better cure than the dealer. Although, I have heard that there are some dealers around here that will install the ECGS bushing instead of the needle bearing.

Even better would be the free hub mod:

The thing is, my '16 had just a hint of this vibe and it would come and go as you describe. Didn't bother me at all.

It's right in your face annoying with this '19. I hear you on the ECGS bushing, but Toyota is gonna try and make this right.

    Anyway../rant.

    Back to OVT goodness!

Ah. Mine is a hint also. Usually requires a double take to realize that it vibrating.

You can't argue with free. I know there was an upgraded bearing in the TSB that came out after I bought, but yours should already have it from the factory?

Mine has a steering wheel vibe when decelerating and/or braking form about 40-30 ish to 15 ish mph. Always does it.

If it goes away when you pop over to 4Hi, then needle bearing. If it doesn't go away, it is something else.

If it was only braking, I would say to verify the lug nut torque is even (loosen and retorque) and try bedding in the pads / shoes. But, the deceleration (assuming no brakes at all) thing is throwing me off.

Yeah, I haven't checked anything out yet. But I did try putting it in 4x4 but I could keep it in it long enough to tell. I'll have to try again. It's really not that bad just annoying.

So the drive home was fine. Throttle is fine.

Rev match still requires a lot more input than any other manual I've had.

The throttle control is there but electronic is electronic and the slight lag will never go away.

I still had some dead pedal issues after shifting. It's like the truck is telling me no until it's ready then when it is ready it goes hard.

Just want the torque curve to be less /\/\/ and more linear.

And rev hang, for the love of God eliminate this shit.

So my experience with the torque match tune.

At first, first gear was a it punchy for me. It felt like I was launching from every stop light. So it felt a bit aggressive. However, by the time I got home, it felt better. So, either my truck warmed up, the ECU learned, or my foot got used to driving it. Let’s see how it goes in the morning. Lol!

Is there a beta or a test tune for 04A70 MT?

No. You need the TSB tune (04A71) to get the Betas and test tunes.
