I've been using Mida since D1.. its hard to give it up. But yeah, Randy's Throwing Knife has been tearing me up when I switch to it. Bygones has been my go-to Pulse, and I'll pair that with Gunnoras axe or Anonymous Autumn.

I've had some success with The Last Word as well.. but like you said earlier, it's getting nerfed to hell.

Mida is what I used to get the Randy's. It was tough but like you, I had used it since D1 so I was used to it. Anonymous Autumn with a good roll on it is a fucking beast!

 

That is the exact Trust I used when going for the Luna's Howl. So you will be good with that Hand Cannon. It's ease of use makes it great.

 

Also.. would anyone be willing to run Chasm of Screams and help me finish my Thorn quest?

That was that one where you guys kept sending me to the shitty thrall spawn place. Felt like a bitch.

Rob and I ran it the other night and he gave up. That strike is simple even with blackout active. Shoot the crystal to start it. Do about 15% damage to the boss and you will hear a scream and that's when two sets of thrall come out. 25% damage and the boss will move to the right. Two more sets of thrall will come out along with a bunch of other adds underneath the boss. Kill those adds, and do more damage to the boss. A larger set of adds come out under the boss at that time. This is when the first tether should be thrown as you can take them out quickly that way. Boss will move back to the middle and thrall will come out almost continuously. Get the boss down to below 50% and it will move up the hill on the left hand side. A large set of adds will come out along with thrall coming from where they always come from. Take those adds out. Do damage to the boss and then the ogres will come out along with a shit ton of adds. Second tether should be thrown then. Kill all of that shit, do damage to the boss and it will move back to the middle. Thrall will never stop coming out from this point on. This is also when the boss does the wipe mechanic of the orbs that it sends out. SHOOT THE FUCKING ORBS. Do a little more damage to the boss and it moves to the back and you have to kill the wizard and take the ball up top. Make it easy on the ball carrier by taking out the wizards on each side of the boss. They are void shielded but you can take them out with a primary as they don't have much health. Whoever takes the ball up doesn't have to move after they dunk the ball. You just stand up there and finish off the boss.

You chose to stand still in the same place the entire fight instead of moving opposite of where the boss was at any given time. Once you learn the mechanics of all the fights you don't have to think about what you are doing. You just know what to do and when. The fight doesn't change. Add clear is the most important thing in that fight (or any fight). Boss comes second always.

 

So they have clarified how Trials will work next season. The main issue everyone was worried about was the power level of next season's artifact. People, like myself, would do nothing but turn in any type of bounty that they could to grind XP to boost their power level and have an unfair advantage over someone that doesn't play the game as much for various reasons. The artifact will be disabled while in a Trials match which I think is fair. Power level will still matter but it shouldn't be the only reason that you win. Power caps out at 970 this season. The artifact is a false power number to your base and I can't honestly tell that my weapons do more damage or that I can take more damage even though I'm sitting at +25 power on my artifact. Even during IB where power matters I can't tell any difference between someone that is sitting at the base of 970 and I'm sitting at 995. It still takes the same amount of shots to kill them. The only time I can tell a difference is when their power level is well below the base of 970. So I think it's more of a placebo effect than anything. But removing the artifact from Trials is the right call. None of the mods that the new artifact supplies will not be useable in Trials which makes it much more about skill and teamwork than just spamming certain abilities which is what it should be about.

 

Speaking of power level... They really need to adjust how you gain power as the power grind right now sucks. No one gives a shit about power anymore. It's just a random number and there is no incentive to go for max power because you will eventually reach it. I wish they would go back to the very first system they had where if you wanted to be level 30 you had to complete VoG. Otherwise you were stuck at 29 1/2. I hated my bar being stuck between 29 and 30 and it gave me the incentive to get to 30 no matter what it took. Now you can get to max power just by playing the easiest shit in the game. Power creep means nothing and there is no reward for hitting max power. It used to mean something in the game when you landed in the tower and you were one of the only ones there sitting at level 30 while everyone else was stuck at 29 1/2. The way it used to be set up was every time a new raid came out you wanted the armor, weapons, emblem, and the power level that came with it. It meant something. But now with the way it's set up? The GoS Raid means nothing. Yeah, it's fun the fist couple times through it. But there is no reason to keep playing it as the armor that comes out of it is usually shit compared to the armor you get out of your seasons pass or the armor from IB. There are a few stand out weapons that come out of it but nothing you have to have. Raids haven't meant much of anything in quite some time.

The Dungeon is fun but it takes about 30 mins to complete it now. And the only reason to run it is to dismantle the armor you get off the final boss for prisms. So we normally pick up a checkpoint for the boss from someone in the clan and finish it in about 5 mins. Switch characters and repeat.

I seriously doubt that the Coronavirus will have an effect on the new consoles being released. The biggest gaming show of the year is E3 and this will be the second year in a row that PlayStation will not attend. Until E3 does some retooling on how they present and host all of the major players in the video game industry (and minor ones also), E3 is starting to become irrelevant in a day and age that console makers can just come out and show their new product / products on their own time schedule and control their own narrative. As the article brings up, it "might" have an impact on Indie games but most of those games are self published and released as digital download game anyway. Seems that article is there just to jump on the bandwagon of everything Coronavirus.

The thing is, with viruses such as this... they all have a shelf life. They will eventually go away on their own. Yes, right now it can be pretty bad in certain parts of the world on people that have compromised immune systems, but in the grand scheme of things there have only been (as of yesterday) 91,320 cases reported and 3118 deaths (mostly in China around the outbreak site). So right around 4% mortality rate. Right now, the 2019-20 flu season is estimated by the CDC to have infected upwards of 45 million people and caused 46,000 deaths in the US alone. Now contrast that with the Coronavirus and then contrast it with the 7.7 billion people that inhabit this planet and it starts to make a little more sense that this is a media hyped event. Sure... it needs to be warned about but it doesn't need to cause a global fear that everyone is going to die because of this outbreak.

My bet is the new consoles will release exactly when they have planned for them to release. And if you don't preorder one? You won't get a new one for a month or longer after release.

 

Guess I'm going to have to preorder one.
I'm not concerned in the least with this virus. Totally media hyped.
