Ah no you haven't, that's a lot of empty real estate under that hood.

That looks killer. How did you wire up the bed light on there? I have the KC version but haven’t installed it yet:facepalm:

Thanks! Speedway Blue is the best! Been thinking about buying high clearance bumpers but that would mean losing some blue, and I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet.

Looks great, I'm getting ready to do my 4Runner grille similarly. Where did you get the "TOYOTA" letters?

Cool, I got the mesh from them, but didn't notice the letters. I'll have another look - did you just glue them on with Goop?

Nice job! Most of our sales tend to go to the 3rd Gen "twins" (4Runner and Taco), so it's always a treat to see photos of the older Tacos with the hood struts

The same shit everyone else has.
Question for you. Can a single hood strut be installed and still fucntion? I ask because my house battery sits in the way where the passenger side strut would sit.

My VW only had from the factory, but I’d image since the Tacoma hood is larger and heavier it probably wouldn’t function as well.

That’s what I figured. I’m currently on the hunt for a pick n pull or someone who took their off for an upgrade and want to wire one into mine.

In principle it can, we can supply struts that are strong enough. But like you suspected, the Taco hood is large and relatively flimsy, so it will flex a lot trying to close it at the middle portion with only one strut. You'd have to make a habit of pulling it down on the side with the strut. Other cars (like your VW) that use a single strut usually have smaller and stiffer hoods.

Can you post a photo of your house battery? We've had a number of folks with those batteries who seemed to get them to work with the struts.

I like mine, too. Since you threw the shackles on already, might I suggest an easy to apply (and better looking, I think) isolator?

I tried that on the driver side. Did not work.

Here's an example of a 2nd Gen with a second battery and the hood struts - is yours anything like this?
