Well I sorta used the video in reverse while at the dealer. When I went in to order my new 2020 Taco I knew I wasn't going to get much if any off MSRP. I'm not going to be an all cash buyer but I will be financing less than half the price of the truck. (I had financing approved through a local Credit Association before walking in the door) And once we got the second tier salesman, the Sales Manager. I starting chatting him up about interest rates and extended warranties. Also asking about paint and wheel protection as I wanted baby well taken care off. Trying to get as much off the price, and hoping he thinks he'll make it up and more in the Finance office in a few weeks when the truck is delivered. Whether it worked to my advantage or not I'll never know. But I did get a pretty sweet deal. So I put down my deposit and the truck was built 1 week ago today. Hoping for delivery late next week.

It's hard to say for sure. Toyota doesn't actually take your order and build a truck specifically for you when you request it. They just build trucks all the time however they want and earmark yours to go to your dealer when the truck that matches your build sheet comes off the line. So it is kind of hard to tell and you just have to wait until what you want happens to be build and sent your way. Somewhat depends on how unique your build is, when they happen to be building certain trucks (for example, sounds like they only build manual Pros for a week every couple months from what I've heard), and just luck in timing it right.

This is what I understand anyway from what I've seen here and elsewhere.

Predator side steps. DiamondBack SE cover. Waiting on my OEM Remote Tailgate Lock to arrive.
I just got my 2020 TRD Off Road w/ Sticker price of 39,717 for 35k including $1k in factory rebate. Working 3 dealers against each other ultimately saved me about $550 and that was the last day of the month. Couldn't be happier with my purchase though and pretty sure since i bought on leap day, it won't be one year old until 2024. :)

I bought in January and Bank of America was offering 2.9% 48mo and 2.99% 60mo with strong credit. It pays to get rates from a couple of places before you just accept what dealer is offering!

I bought my 2020 in November 2019, before the $1,000 rebate 'expired' on Dec 1. They just renewed it on Dec 2. At least I got a $1,000.
I'm a little jealous, but if you get a $1,500 rebate, good for you!

When was there a $1500 rebate? February was $1000. Maybe in January?

I just negotiated the price with the dealership, I could care less what the rebate what I was as long as I am comfortable with the price.

I just got a deal of a lifetime with my new 202 OR. MSRP was 44,288.00 and got it $37k even. $1000 in rebate and $6000 in dealer discounts. $3000 under dealer invoice. Had all the options EXCEPT the new headlights, which I imagine is causing the insane deal.

    $1500 rebate is right now.

Just saw the new Bronco is being unveiled next month. Wonder if they are trying to snag some buyers before they can change their mind. Hopefully that bodes well for them extending it into April as well.

Oh gotcha. Thats a good deal. I picked up my Tacoma last month for 15% off MSRP, so I am very happy with that.

Seems like the rebate went from $1000 to $1500, or financing from 2.9% to 1.9%, in the last couple days for my region (PNW/Tacoma). I missed it by a week , oh well.

Same. Like my wife said, just don't look back. You couldn't have known, you made the jump and it was worth it. What's one more payment in the grand scheme.

Great, informative video. Thanks for posting!

I am planning on putting half down and already have my rate and loan through my bank (2.5% for 60 months or 2% for 48 months). Does anybody know if I should hold off on mentioning that until the finance office as well?

Id hold off until the end. If they ask, say you will be financing but don't bring up your bank. If they think you are financing with their banks they will get a kickback so they will be more willing to give you a deal. Then when you get the price finalized whip out your loan.

Go back a page or two and watch that video about paying cash. It covers putting some down or financing somewhere else as well, very informative

Fed cut interest rates yesterday by 0.50%. Banks may follow soon.
