looking for some advice, I just ordered some Kings extended travel and 700lb springs for future bumper and skids, my questions are below.

1.) I have currently bilstein 5100 set up with AAL and icon UCAs do I need to add anything else when removing my current and replacing with the Kings?

2.) when installing I want to achieve a 3in lift like I have now with the adjustment on the front what do I adjust to as far as turns on both sides to achieve that and compensate for the taco lean?

3.) alignment specs anything I should shoot for?

4.) with my old suspension I had issues with driver side dropping 2-3 in further causing the UCA to hit my coil spring anything I should look out for? Pictures attached

    Thanks in advanced!!

I wonder if your shock is broken. Is your driver's side the bottom pic?

There's another thread floating around here where a guy broke his 5100's. Same symptom, coil hitting UCA

Right you can go to 3 but Im just wondering on how many turns that would equate to and how many turns to compensate for lean, would 12 turns be too much on the driver side then just 10 turns on the passenger side? I believe its 5 turns per inch 2 turns for half inch so 12= 2.5? and 10 is 2in ? Just trying to get an idea of what others have done for turns.

I noticed that was not sure how but I believe the limit weld broke internally, on a good note gave me good reason to upgrade.

I think every truck is different. I went with 11 turns driver and 9.5 turns passenger past the factory setting, gave me like a 4 inch lift. Figured its easier to remove pre-load (which is what I eventually did) with the shocks on the truck than try to turn the collar to gain pre-load so I started with a lot of turns. Mind you, I'm on 600lb springs with no weight in the front so with your 700lb springs you shouldn't need to turn the collar as much to gain lift.

perfect so maybe try 10 turns driver and lets sat 8.5 passenger then adjust down from there and with the bumper install and skids adjust higher to compensate?

If you're going to go with 700lb springs with no weight in the meantime, I would probably only turn the collar 3 or 4 times. You'll still have a good lift and much less of a stiff ride. Unfortunately once you add the armor you may have to add in more turns to your liking, which can be a pain without removing the whole shock. From the research ive done, a heavier spring requires less turns of the collar to achieve lift.

makes sense since there will be less sag on the spring with no weight Ill try that and see how it looks and worst case just adjust higher to my liking thank you for the input!!

At first I went to 3” lift. Looks great, but two cv boots replacements later (in three months) I’m lowering to 2.5”. Hope to have a bit softer ride too.
