Mine auto updated, I didn’t have a lot of time to check mine yesterday because I worked through lunch on a sewer project where I got covered in sewer and that killed my day.

I'm with you. I still think this virus is a convenient excuse for China slowing down anyway. The rest of the worlds economy have been in the shitter pretty deep for a long time, finally catching up here. I dont think it will be a 2008 2.0 though.

In 2019 China's GDP grew the lowest % since 1990, which is still great growth but they grew slower than they have in 30 years. They were projecting it to be even less in 2020, now for sure after this virus. I think we have to look at indicators domestically for manufacturing that have been telling us for over a year that things are slowing down in our economy- and we had the longest expansion in history run until now. I agree won't be as bad as 2008, but it's been overdue. Everything is pointing to this not being a temporary slump due to the virus but more like the start of a small recession for the next couple years.

I don't think the Feds cut today is going to do shit. Rates have already been as low as they can be. The problem now is earnings are not going to meet expectations and there is nothing left to ease. Anyway hate to sound negative but on a positive note maybe this coronavirus accelerated the drop that would have stretched over a few months and we've bottomed out for a while now.

Yea maybe it tore the bandaid off. Agree the rate cut cut was insanely stupid.

I was reading an interesting article that even before this crisis a significant number of companies were looking to relocate mfr out of china for various reasons. Looks like alot will be going to Mexico which would be a good thing for us here in the states if something like this happens again, makes alot more sense from a logistics speed standpoint as well.

The H1N1 Swine Flu in 2009 started in Mexico. I just wish everyone could make everything here, but I understand why they can't with the wages that would be demanded.

Bought some GLD. When Fed cuts rates, gold goes up.

    Other positions:
    TVIX
    UVXY
    DWT
    DGAZ

Up 6% today. Erased yesterday's losses for now.

I think their point was diversifying supply chains, using a more friendly neighbor, and its 5 days to get a container to the east coast of the US from mexico, rather than 40days.

I know, I was just pointing out that these weird diseases come from all over, and we'd be screwed the same way when the next one breaks out in the next place.

ended the day a hair higher than where I started Monday before SHTF for my positions in TVIX, etc. Wild day today, tons of volatility. Lots of TALL 30 min candles.

Seems like the rate cut did more harm than good. Now they don't have that option in their back pocket if something is needed in a couple of months.

I called it that most stocks would hit red after the cut. Who ever bought friday night though and sold yesterday made a quick buck o_O
