"brake override failure" shows up under any error.
You are stuck with a half-flashed ECU.
I'll get back to you via Zendesk right now

Ok. I got the P5flash button to be clickable. But when I click it the bottom left says “ready” and nothing else happens.

No brake override issue with mine.

I could open the P5flash program. All the functions would try to run but would yield "unsuccessful" results. It wouldn't identify the ecu, wouldn't flash to any of the tunes or stock, wouldn't search for DTCs, clear the LV, etc.

Not sure what happened to begin with other than I had a bad flash that was resolved by unplugging battery and all and retrying. Past flashes were super fast and easy. This time around, wife was loading truck, opening closing doors, inside lights on/off, etc. Not sure if that could have affected things. Maybe I had a bad USB connection. (I use a MacBook Pro with a USB adapter device and run Windows on Boot Camp. Previous flashes were easy and fast).

Either way, I've been on stock tune since then. Waiting for the 2.0 update to drop and maybe try again.

I found this in a post from @BadKitty , and it worked for me:

If its a windows defender issue:
-Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
-Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.
-Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or process.(OV tune stuff)

I actually ended up taking a slightly different route by turning off "real time protection" under Virus & threat protection settings while running Flash Manager. While "real time protection" was off, I was able to use Flash Manager without any issues. I was sure to turn "real time protection" back on once I was done though.

I’m going to try that approach. I’ve got my OVtune folder added as an exclusion and triple checked it’s there correctly and still tries to block it every time I flash.

I am ready to flash sooner. It must be good given the time invested on this round.

Since I have the OVT kit and Techstream downloaded, would I be able to help/diagnose/ update 4runners or other vehicles?
    These are my waking thoughts.....:bored:

    Good morning.
wanted to let everyone watching this thread know we are having some Zendesk issues at the moment. They may be doing some maintenance.

Yes, as long as your Techstream version is at or higher than what the vehicle requires.
