It’s a 2.7. If it was magically drawing air from the cool rainforests of deepest darkest Peru it ain’t gonna make a difference. They do look cool though. Besides, when I first got mine I drove it for six months before I found the airbox one giant chipmunk nest. Ran fine :anonymous:

They shouldn't, especially since they're CARB legal in CA... (there's not much that is legal here...)

I've had mine since I bought my truck in 2005. It has a mount for the stock mass aid flow censor, and it just bolts right up.

I'm not UNhappy with mine per se, it's just that I probably wouldn't have installed one myself. Mine came with it.

Yeah, since it came with it, I can't say for sure. All I know is that for a long time by friend had a nearly identical 2003 DC, and I didn't exactly blow his doors off in a drag.

The trick is to not over oil them , all you need is to lightly fog the filter oil onto the pleats . Also having another filter as a spare so it can thoroughly dry

Yeah, people always complain that the K&Ns are oily because they just over oil them. You don't need much.

I'd prefer a stock airbox/K&N filter. All my othe rvehicles have been like that. Even my dirtbike has a K&N. It's been like this for 16 years, so unless I end up desperate for a snorkel or something, it's not likely to change any time soon, lol.

I've been running K&N filters for almost 42 years and won't use anything else !!!!!!

I've got a $1k dollar Holley carb under that K&N filter and below that a $10k dollar sbc ......... not worried one bit !!!!!

Friends and I would "flip" the factory air cleaner on the family Chevy with the 350 engine. ... back in the day now, think 1978 ... and then go cruising. Smash down on the gas pedal and "vroom" off you go, did make a difference in performance and noise. Then at the end of the night park the car and not put/flip it back. The next day or so, Mom would then get in and start her up, vroom !! It was best on her trip back home as our drive-way was at the top of a long grade up hill. Coming back with those groceries she sounded so boss ...

The truck sucks air in from the wheel well outside the engine compartment stock. Doesn't get much "colder" than that.
