I vote for and purchase GoodYear Duratracs everytime. I have LT265/70-17 (on the Taco)with 85,000km on them. Getting rough and noisy, due for another set. In 12 tires, I’ve had one flat from a 3” spiral nail (plugged 30,000km ago). Winter, towing, exploring No Winter maintenance roads, Ardbeg, all awesome.
New 33x12.5x15 on the 4Runner. Too wide in my opinion, but I learned that the hard way. Wish they were more like 33x10.5 - 35x10.5.....next time.

I am running 33" 10.2 wide (255/80/17) Cooper ST Maxx

These are only the 2nd set of tires I have ever owned, 1st being the stock rugged trails that came on my truck. So not much experience here.

Love em so far, they were a huge upgrade from the stock rubber.

Last year upgraded to Falken Wildpeak At3w 265/70/17 and installed 2" lift. Fuel consumption went up by a less than a 1L Not a significant increase in my book.

    Hello everyone,

Thanks Peter for the kind welcome. Been camping around TW for quite some time and have learnt a lot from everyone. Finally got myself a 2010 DCLB with 270k on it, very recently.
Looking forward to learning some more and get your opinions on several questions and issues.

    For tires

As others have said, and from what I've read,
you can't go wrong with any of these 3

    Duratrac
    Falcan Wildpeak AT3W
    Cooper ST Max

I went with the Duratracs and have been very pleased with them. About 26k on them so far and they are wearing well.
Good traction in the snow and rain. Good in the mud, but certainly no mud tire...

can anyone recommend a good alignment shop/guy in or around the peterborough area? I have taken it to the alignment center before and although they got the truck driving straight, they couldn't get it to the recommended specs. i have aftermarket ucas (jba) so i don't see any reason why the truck couldn't be aligned properly. looking to try someone else this time.

    Probably at work.
    Vehicle:
    2014 Tacoma Crawler & 2008 Tacoma Daily
    Went from firestone destination m/t’s
To cooper stt pro’s and i liked the firestones but the coopers are sooo nice. quieter on the road and did amazing in the snow. They also did really well daily driving in the winter. Cant wait to see what they do on some dry rock. (Plus they have white letters :woot:)

I am on second set of Cooper St Maxx and love em. Bit noisy on road but I find them great for everyday conditions and especially off road.

With a manual trans I went from roughly 11.5L/100km to 12.5 L/100km in mixed conditions. I don’t do enough pure highway to know my numbers. I’ll give up that 1L/100km of fuel the POS Dunlop AT2 saved, those stock tires were garbage on the dirt/gravel roads and in the snow, both of which I get plenty of up here.
I did go up in tire size, and traded P-rated for LT.

I have this OME medium setup ,,,but found the rear on the bump stops to much with the cap on so I added I OME add a leaf which makes it the same as the heavy duty . Much better
