The power booster is hydraulic and runs off the power steering pump. The PS pump powered booster is carried over from the diesel versions. I haven't see many issues on IH8MUD.com. I do like the way it feels..

Need to check it out very carefully. Go low on price so you have room to take care of any problems that come up. I understand the better year is a 2000 with the 4-pinion front diff and ATRAC. The 98 and 98 models have a two pinion front diff. I would hold out for a 2000 or later.
