I don't think many people did that. Some are speculating retirement inflows cause the dip buying yesterday, which triggered a FOMO rally, but I don't see a lot of correlation there but looking at past "first day of the month" moves.

I forgot about retirement accounts being cashed out potential craziness.

I'm mostly cashed out but my future contributions are still heavily in equities, I figured I'll buy whatever dip happens and accumulate on the way down if that happens. Once there's a good opportunity I'll rotate the rest my portfolio back into my normal equities percentage mix.

Anybody looking at banks right now (or maybe soon)? Their yields are looking pretty nice lately!

Me neither, but I also don’t see them yielding 3%+ very often. I’ll do some research, still not sure about owning banks.

I’m probably overexposed to financials with mREITs too.

I was reading about the 2009 H1N1 Swine Flu. I don’t even remember it happening. The CDC said it caused over 12,000 deaths in the U.S., and over 575,000 deaths worldwide.

I am not a conspiracy theorist, but you have to wonder what political motives the media has to create the hysteria this time. Well, maybe you don’t have to wonder.

You know I don’t remember it at all either. I honestly thought it was just over in Asia back then and I didn’t pay any attention to it. Obviously social media existed back then but it wasn’t what it is now and I find that has brought up the most hysteria IMO this time around. Even before the mainstream news started to broadcast. Good observation on your part to bring this up

That’s a good point on the social media. At the rate of panic we are seeing with 9 deaths in the U.S., you have to wonder what it will look like if it crosses 10,000+ here and a half million worldwide. People will be shooting each other in the streets in some kind of apocalypse.

To be fair this had to happen. The market was way oversold. I'm just going to leave this here 3 month to 10 year bond yield has predicted all of the last recessions

Interesting, the curve is steepening right now, just as it appears to have done before all other recent recessions. I noticed the 2/10 are now about .3 apart. I thought that was a good thing, but it is probably just part of the process. It’s overdue anyways.

    Sanity is prevailing.

The scariest thing I learned from this is how many people conflate social programs (fire, police, schools), and Socialism (government owning the means of production). That’s a scary thought, especially as an investor. Come on schools, what are you teaching?!
